8x8 announces full integration with Jabra headsets

8x8 has formed a partnership with Jabra to expand equipment offerings to include the Jabra BIZ, Engage, Evolve and UC VOICE mono and stereo headsets.

8x8 says that this expansion in headset capabilities is coming in response to the dramatic increase in usage of the company's desktop and mobile apps for voice, video conferencing, chat and contact centre, as companies quickly move to work from home environments.

A total of thirty-two models across the Jabra BIZ, Engage, Evolve and UC VOICE headset families can be used with 8x8 X Series, 8x8 Video Meetings and 8x8 Contact Center.

“Our research has shown that knowledge workers are facing increased disruptions while collaborating,” says Jabra North America president and general manager Kelly Nagel, President and GM, Jabra North America.

“It's paramount that they have the tools to overcome a noisy environment and communicate effectively. Our partnership with 8x8 provides customers with the exceptional call quality they need to stay focused and productive using a Jabra professional headset and 8x8 service plan with a physical phone, softphone or mobile device.

With this integration, joint customers will have a seamless experience when making and receiving calls using the 8x8 Virtual Office Desktop or Mobile applications and a Jabra headset.

Users can answer, mute and disconnect 8x8 calls directly from their Jabra headsets with no further actions required in the 8x8 applications, for an experience that replicates the native phone application and business phones.

X Series includes Video Meetings which is powered by Jitsi, an open source community for secure video meetings technology sponsored by 8x8.

Video Meetings is also available as free and paid standalone versions and is optimised for use with the WebRTC standard which enables attendees to join meetings without downloads or plugins.

Express is a solution for small organisations and teams that require a complete, pre-configured business phone system with a dedicated business number, video meetings and messaging in a single desktop and mobile application.
