Jason Disborough named Chief Commercial Officer for Aon Pacific
Aon has appointed Jason Disborough as Chief Commercial Officer for the Pacific region. Disborough will take on responsibility for commercial strategy and client engagement across Australia and New Zealand from the start of 2026, operating from Brisbane and joining executive leadership teams in both countries.
Expanded remit
In his new position, Disborough will oversee the implementation of Aon's commercial objectives throughout the Pacific. He will also join the recently established Pacific Partnership Committee, designed to strengthen ties between the Australian and New Zealand operations and promote collaboration. Disborough will remain part of the company's global leadership team, ensuring alignment with Aon's broader international priorities.
Industry experience
Disborough has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance sector, primarily at Aon. His previous roles include Enterprise Growth Leader for Asia Pacific and Chief Executive Officer, Multinational Clients (International). He has played a central role driving business growth and developing long-term client relationships in local and global markets, with an emphasis on both Australia and New Zealand. Disborough was also involved in creating and leading the Aon Insights Series event in Australia and spearheading its expansion into New Zealand.
Leadership perspectives
"Jason's appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our Pacific business. His deep understanding of our markets and unwavering commitment to client excellence will help us accelerate growth and deliver even greater value to our clients across the region," said Kevan Johnston, CEO of Australia, Aon.
Melissa Cantell, CEO of New Zealand, Aon, said: "Jason is a proven leader who brings people together to solve complex challenges. The launch of the Pacific Partnership Committee is a testament to our commitment to cross-market collaboration and I look forward to working closely with Jason to drive innovation and share best practices for the benefit of our clients and colleagues in both Australia and New Zealand."
Focus on collaboration
The Pacific Partnership Committee, formed earlier in 2025, has a remit to enhance cooperation and information sharing between Aon's operations in Australia and New Zealand. The aim is to share strategies and experience to support client services and colleague development throughout the region. The committee is intended to act as a platform for knowledge transfer and joint commercial initiatives.
New regional platform
Disborough said: "I am honoured to step into this role at such a pivotal time for our region. I am passionate about helping our clients navigate an increasingly complex risk landscape and I am excited to work with our talented teams across Australia and New Zealand to deliver the full strength of Aon to our clients. The Pacific Partnership Committee will be a powerful platform for collaboration, and I look forward to building on our shared success."
