LHD Lawyers appoints four new Partners amid national expansion

Fri, 31st Oct 2025

LHD Lawyers has promoted four senior lawyers to Partner as part of its 35th anniversary and ongoing national growth.

The law firm, which recently acquired Redlich's Injury Lawyers, announced the elevation of Jamie Nemme, Lisa Meys, Wes Ranson, and Marko Eric to Partner roles. Three of the newly appointed Partners are based in Sydney, while Marko Eric leads from Melbourne, emphasising the firm's continuing expansion in Victoria.

The appointments reflect LHD Lawyers' dual commitment to both internal progression and the recruitment of individuals with significant external legal experience. Jamie Nemme and Lisa Meys, previously Senior Associates, have spent the entirety of their professional careers at LHD Lawyers, developing their expertise in personal injury and total and permanent disablement (TPD) law. Wes Ranson and Marko Eric, formerly Practise Leaders, join the partnership with extensive experience from previous roles at other Australian law firms.

Talent recognition

Managing Director, John Abouchrouche, said he was honoured to have advanced and endorsed the promotions, describing the moment as both professionally significant and personally meaningful.

These promotions strike a perfect balance between nurturing and rewarding our own talent and welcoming external excellence that brings new perspectives, global acumen, and specialised skills to the firm.

Abouchrouche went on to elaborate on the career journeys of Nemme and Meys, stating:

Lisa and Jamie have been with LHD since the very beginning of their careers and have grown organically through every layer of the firm. They embody our ethos of practising with purpose and maintaining a people-first legal philosophy underpinned by empathy and care. I am particularly proud to have worked alongside them throughout their careers and of their growth story, and I am excited for the fresh input, enthusiasm, and ideas they will bring to the next iteration of LHD, LHD-implemented in a distinctly LHD-ian way.

Regarding Wes Ranson and Marko Eric, Abouchrouche stated:

Wes and Marko, in addition to excelling during their time at LHD, have also had outstanding careers elsewhere before joining us, Wes worked at Brydens for over 20 years, and Marko at Slater and Gordon for 15 years. They bring with them a depth of external experience, knowledge, and professional prowess that strengthens our collective capability and broadens our perspective. Their leadership adds another dimension to LHD's growth story, one that combines fresh insight with the stability of our established culture.

National expansion

Since its beginnings in New South Wales, LHD Lawyers has developed a national presence, now operating offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, and Perth. The firm's teams work across six states and territories, focusing on personal injury, TPD, workers compensation, and public liability work.

LHD Lawyers' recent acquisition of Redlich's Injury Lawyers further supports its aim of strengthening its national footprint, particularly in Victoria, where Marko Eric is now based.

Commitment to compensation access

Chief Executive Officer James Bodel underscored the firm's founding principle of ensuring Australians can access compensation without excessive stress or financial strain.

We've built this business on a simple principle: every case matters.

Bodel stressed the importance of the individuals behind the firm's success:

We're proud of how far we've come, but even prouder of the people who make it happen. These promotions remind us that our success is built on the strength of our team and the trust of our clients.

He added:

Each of these new Partners represents what makes LHD different, which is real people who deliver real results. Their leadership strengthens our ability to support clients through some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

Looking ahead

The firm continues to grow its presence throughout New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, and Tasmania, with an emphasis on maintaining the approach that has characterised LHD Lawyers over the past three and a half decades.
