Rapid7 appoints Soumi Mukherjee as ANZ Sales Director to boost growth

Tue, 21st Oct 2025

Rapid7 has promoted Soumi Mukherjee to Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).

Mukherjee brings more than two decades of experience in leading sales teams and supporting growth initiatives for technology companies across the Asia-Pacific region and ANZ. Her new role focuses on accelerating Rapid7's growth in the region and assisting organisations as they address an evolving and often complex cybersecurity landscape.

Mukherjee commented on her appointment, stating, "Cybersecurity is a constantly evolving space, and I'm excited to help our customers take a more proactive, intelligent approach to managing risk." She continued, "Rapid7 has a strong culture of innovation and collaboration, and I'm looking forward to building on that foundation as we support more organisations on their security journey."

Since joining Rapid7 in 2018, Mukherjee has held roles that centred on client relations and regional development. She arrived at Rapid7 from Interlock Technologies, where she served as Account Director, bringing with her an established track record in sales management and technical solution delivery.

Regional expansion

The promotion follows a period of growth for Rapid7 in the ANZ market, as businesses in the region face increasing pressure to strengthen their information security frameworks in response to a wider and more complex attack surface. Organisations operating in a variety of sectors, including finance, healthcare and government, have sought enhanced cybersecurity measures to counter evolving threats.

Mukherjee's appointment is intended to support these organisations through a combination of technical expertise, sector awareness and an established local presence within the market.

Endorsement from APJ leadership

"Soumi has been a key contributor to our success in the region," said Rob Dooley, APJ Vice President and General Manager, Rapid7.

Dooley said, "Her leadership, technical acumen, and customer focus make her the ideal person to lead our ANZ sales team as we expand our presence and continue helping businesses stay ahead of emerging threats."

In this capacity, Mukherjee is expected to work closely with both existing and prospective customers, assisting them with adopting more proactive approaches to managing cybersecurity risk. She will also be guiding the sales team as they engage with organisations across the two countries, aiming to tailor security strategies to specific industry and organisational needs.

Industry experience

Mukherjee has worked for technology firms in various client-facing and managerial roles over her 20-year career. Her experience covers not only direct sales but also broader business development and strategic planning across the region. Industry observers frequently emphasise the importance of leadership experience in the deployment and management of cybersecurity programmes, as organisations look to partner with suppliers who demonstrate both regional expertise and an understanding of current threat dynamics.

According to Mukherjee, the increasing complexity of cyberthreats demands ongoing investment in skills and technology. Her stated aim is to help organisations move from reactive to more proactive risk management practices, delivering security outcomes that align with their operational goals.

The changes in Rapid7's ANZ leadership reflect ongoing shifts in how technology vendors are addressing the needs of local markets amid global cybersecurity challenges. As the ANZ Sales Director, Mukherjee will focus on expanding engagement initiatives, driving regional growth, and supporting customers within the dynamic information security sector.
