Steve Glynn joins elevenM to expand digital risk advisory

Today

Steve Glynn has been appointed as director at Australian consultancy elevenM, as the company continues to expand its digital risk advisory services.

This appointment reflects increased demand from Australian organisations for strategic guidance on cyber risk, as businesses' reliance on digital technologies grows and the digital threat landscape undergoes continual change. Glynn's responsibilities will include providing strategic advice on existing and emerging cyber risks and opportunities for elevenM's clients.

Glynn brings with him nearly three decades of experience in the cyber security sector, having served as Chief Information Security Officer for ANZ Bank and, most recently, as the head of the digital and cyber risk advisory practice across Asia-Pacific at strategic advisory firm Hakluyt.

He will join existing elevenM directors Peter Quigley, who co-leads the consultancy's cyber advisory practice, and Melanie Marks, who leads the privacy practice. The team's combined expertise reflects elevenM's focus on supporting a range of businesses through the increasing convergence of cyber, privacy, data, and AI risks.

"I'm hugely excited to be joining elevenM and look forward to working alongside Peter Quigley and Melanie Marks and the broader elevenM team to support our clients to solve their most important digital and cyber-related challenges and opportunities," said Steve Glynn.

Peter Quigley, director at elevenM, emphasised Glynn's reputation and the strategic advantage his experience brings to the company and its clients.

"Steve is renowned in the industry for his ability to engage strategically on cyber risk with senior decision makers. His experience and insights will be a real asset for our clients as they navigate emerging cyber risk challenges," said Peter Quigley, elevenM director.

Melanie Marks, director at elevenM and head of the privacy practice, spoke about the increasing need for an integrated approach to managing digital risks within the current environment.

"The convergence of digital risks such as cyber, data, privacy and AI increasingly requires an integrated and holistic approach. We're excited to combine Steve's deep knowledge and experience in the cyber industry with our existing expertise to help our clients solve complex problems and achieve success," said Melanie Marks, elevenM director.

Founded in 2016, elevenM provides services in cyber security, privacy, data governance, artificial intelligence governance, and strategic communications. Each area is led by a subject matter expert, with an approach based on delivering high-quality work supported by experienced practitioners.

elevenM's portfolio of clients includes many of Australia's largest corporations, government agencies, mid-tier companies, and not-for-profit organisations. The consultancy is also involved in delivering one of the Federal Government's AI Adopt centres, following the announcement by former Minister for Industry and Science Ed Husic in 2024.

The continued growth of elevenM's team and its focus on comprehensive digital risk management demonstrate the increasing complexity of organisational requirements in today's landscape, where cyber security and related digital risks are an integrated aspect of business operations. Glynn's appointment is positioned to support organisations as they adapt to and address these challenges.
