Adobe has announced the general availability of the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) AI Assistant, marking a noteworthy advancement in enterprise software. Unveiled at the Adobe Summit in March 2024, the AI Assistant is designed to enhance productivity for experience practitioners through generative AI, thereby broadening the accessibility of enterprise applications.
AEP AI Assistant is embedded across various Adobe Experience Cloud applications such as Real-Time Customer Data Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer, and Customer Journey Analytics. This integration allows the AI Assistant to perform a wide range of functions, including answering technical questions, automating tasks, simulating outcomes, and generating new audiences and journeys. These capabilities leverage generative experience models that incorporate Adobe product knowledge and insights, tailored to an organisation's unique data, campaigns, audiences, and business goals—all while maintaining a privacy-first approach.
Anjul Bhambhri, Senior Vice President of Adobe Experience Cloud, stated, "AI assistants are driving a paradigm shift within enterprise software, dramatically lowering the barrier to entry for new use cases and first-time users." He elaborated on Adobe's ability to deliver an out-of-the-box solution that harnesses data to provide insights and automation. The scale of data processed through the Adobe Experience Platform is considerable, managing 40 petabytes of data and 5 billion edge interactions daily.
AEP AI Assistant offers several key functionalities:
Product Expertise: This feature allows users to execute operational tasks efficiently by providing quick answers to product-related questions, such as "How do I build an audience segment?" or "What is an identity map?" This insight reduces the time spent on problem exploration and resolution, enabling users to gain operational insights around datasets, audiences, and journeys without the need for SQL queries.
Content Generation and Automation: AEP AI Assistant can generate a variety of marketing assets, including emails and web pages, via Adobe Firefly. This capability supports always-on experimentation and accelerates content production through auto-generated creative briefs derived from existing assets such as PDFs, slide decks, and Word documents. Additionally, the AI Assistant facilitates content organisation and ensures that AI-generated material adheres to brand standards.
Predictive Insights and Recommendations: Upcoming features will enable teams to simulate outcomes and optimise their marketing efforts more effectively. With the ability to provide predictive insights, the AEP AI Assistant can answer complex questions in seconds, such as estimating conversion rates from specific segments. It will also recommend the next best actions, such as custom promotional offers, to boost conversion rates.
The introduction of AEP AI Assistant has already seen significant interest and application among leading brands such as The Coca-Cola Company, Major League Baseball, Marriott International, General Motors, TSB Bank, and Real Madrid. For instance, General Motors has utilised the AI Assistant to enhance productivity and shorten the time to value, while also democratizing access across its organisation.
