CommBank app adds travel booking & car buying services
CommBank has announced significant enhancements to its mobile application, including the addition of Travel Booking and car buying services. According to the latest data, over 8.5 million customers are actively using the CommBank app, marking a substantial rise in digital engagement over the past decade.
In the last ten years, the frequency of customer interactions with the app has seen a remarkable increase. The average customer now logs in more than 42 times a month, compared to approximately 15 times per month back in 2014. Over 3 million users are engaging with the app's various money management tools monthly.
With the introduction of Travel Booking, provided by Hopper, and new car buying services, CommBank aims to cater to a broader range of customer needs. These new features are designed to offer customers an integrated and personalised view of their financial activities. The services can also provide access to exclusive deals tailored to individual saving goals and spending trends.
Meg Bonighton, CommBank's Executive General Manager for Customer Engagement and Digital, emphasised the importance of these enhancements. "Cost of living is understandably top of mind for many of our customers, and having an extended line of sight into key expenses, saving goals, budgets, and investments all in one place can help them feel more on top of their finances," Bonighton stated.
The introduction of the Travel Booking service marks the first time Australian banking has allowed secure access to travel arrangements via the CommBank app. Meanwhile, the car-buying service aims to streamline the process for personal and business customers. It seeks to help users understand their potential repayments, secure deals, and easily apply for finance.
These additions come as part of CommBank's broader strategy to enhance digital engagement and provide its customers with a comprehensive financial management platform. The bank's continuous investment in technology and digital services underscores its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its user base.
