FYI, this story is more than a year old

DXC Technology has announced the launch of its new Customer Engagement Centre, a purpose-designed drop-in space in the heart of the Sydney Central Business District, aimed at paving the way for new models of customer engagement and collaboration.

The centre will feature technology-enabled reconfigurable spaces to support collaboration and connection, lounges, communal worktables and focus pods for quiet conversations; as well as rooms incorporating multi-functional and adaptable spaces to meet the evolving needs of customers.

“It’s time to start meeting face to face, and it’s time for businesses to start doing their part to revitalise the Sydney Central Business District," says Seelan Nayagam, President Asia Pacific, DXC Technology.

"Many Australian organisations have their headquarters based in Sydney, making it imperative to have a central space that brings us closer to them. This centre has been purposefully designed as a customer-facing site with 75% of the space allocated for collaboration.

"The new Customer Engagement Centre is a flagship model of business innovation, and we would be delighted to showcase the centre as a space that represents the future of modern workplace.”

Speaking at the official opening, Jennifer Westacott AO, Chief Executive, Business Council of Australia says, “As we learn to live more normally alongside COVID-19, many industries recognise they still need face-to-face collaboration.

"It’s a vital and valuable ingredient in the creative process that sparks human ingenuity and innovation," she says.

"Through this centre, DXC Technology is responding to evolving ways of working by reimagining the future of modern, hybrid workplaces.’’

Through DXC’s Social Impact Practice, and by way of a yarning circle, DXC’s leadership team engaged and collaborated with Aunty Donna Ingram, Wiradjuri, Cultural Representative for the Local Aboriginal Community, to give the centre an Indigenous name - Ngara Djiyadi  (Knowledge/ listen/ hear/ think - Talk) - after Gadigal language. Additionally, artwork and meeting room names themed around Indigenous culture, coming together and significant Elders, have been used throughout as a sign of respect and DXC’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation.

Officiating the launch, Aunty Donna Ingram, Wiradjuri, Cultural Representative for the Local Aboriginal Community, said, “I really enjoyed the collaboration with DXC Technology as I felt that they were genuine in their respect and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and knowledge, and they were willing to listen and be guided. This respect will go a long way towards building better relationships and understanding between our communities and the wider Australian population.”

Building on DXC’s values of Community and Care, DXC has partnered with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF), a national charity that responds to requests from remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities for culturally relevant books - including early learning board books, resources, and programs to support these communities to create and publish their stories in languages of their choice. All attendees at the DXC Sydney Customer Engagement Centre Opening have the opportunity to pledge a donation that will be used to create or purchase culturally appropriate books where they are needed for Indigenous Communities across Australia.

“Despite DXC being a virtual-first company with over 95% of our employees working remotely, our customers are asking for face-to-face meetings and interactions," says Nayagam..

"The new centre gives our colleagues a space where they can drop-in between customer meetings, host events, run customer training and workshops or conduct presentations. By offering multiple hubs for collaboration across Sydney, we are changing the way we engage, deliver and provide value to our customers."
