HubSpot opens first Australian data centre in Sydney

Yesterday

HubSpot has announced the launch of its first data centre in Australia as part of its efforts to provide local businesses with enhanced product performance, reliability, and data sovereignty.

The newly launched data centre located in Sydney will enable companies to host their data onshore, ensuring that HubSpot customers benefit from enhanced regional product performance, greater reliability, and improved compliance capabilities. This move is aimed at assisting businesses, particularly those in regulated sectors, to comply with Australia's stringent data residency requirements.

Dan Bognar, Vice President and Managing Director JAPAC at HubSpot, stated, "Australian businesses of all sizes need uncompromising performance, and we're investing to deliver exactly that.

"As AI and customer expectations reshape the competitive landscape, organisations need a customer platform they can trust. Our local infrastructure demonstrates our long-term commitment to helping businesses across the region grow better," he said.

Australia's digital economy is on a significant growth trajectory, with projections indicating it could reach USD $315 billion by 2030. HubSpot's investment in local infrastructure aims to support this rapid digital transformation and equip businesses with the tools needed to capture these opportunities.

According to the company, by situating its services closer to customers, HubSpot hopes to deliver faster performance, improved reliability, and reduced latency, enabling businesses to enhance their customer service and compete more effectively in the burgeoning digital economy.

Bognar elaborated, "Australia's digital economy represents a significant opportunity, and businesses need the right foundation to capture it.

"Our investment in local infrastructure reflects our deep commitment to empowering Australian organisations with the tools they need to accelerate their digital transformation and unlock new possibilities," he said.

The establishment of the data centre is particularly significant for sectors with high compliance demands such as finance, healthcare, and government. This investment provides assurance that local businesses can meet data residency requirements, a critical factor in maintaining trust with customers.

Dominic Arena, Chief Executive Officer at Fetch TV, one of HubSpot's local customers benefiting from the new data centre, emphasised the importance of data sovereignty. "For Fetch, Australian Data Sovereignty is a key pillar of our unique value proposition to our customers - Australian family households.

"So the Australian data centre is an important enabler and reason for us to choose to work with HubSpot for our CRM solution," he said.

This development is part of HubSpot's global infrastructure expansion initiative, with additional data centres planned in the United States and Canada.
