Ingram Micro Australia opens new North Sydney headquarters hub

Tue, 18th Nov 2025

Ingram Micro Australia has consolidated its Sydney operations in a new headquarters at 40 Mount Street, North Sydney. The move brings the company's corporate, commercial, and specialist service teams into a single, hybrid-ready workspace aimed at supporting customers and partners across the country.

Strategic location

The new office is situated within North Sydney's established commercial precinct, which is home to numerous global technology firms such as Microsoft, Cisco, and Lenovo. This location provides the company with proximity to key technology vendors, resellers, and partners. North Sydney contributes an estimated AUD $23 billion to the New South Wales economy, with professional, scientific, and technical services forming a significant part of local employment.

According to local authorities, the influx of technology companies has reinforced North Sydney's status as a destination for professional talent and economic growth.

"It is wonderful to see a business so central to the technology landscape make North Sydney home. Businesses like Ingram Micro strengthen our reputation as a hub for innovation, creativity and economic opportunity. World-class technology companies bring energy, opportunity and jobs, and Ingram Micro Australia's decision to join our community underscores our position as one of Australia's most desirable business locations," said Zoë Baker, Mayor, North Sydney Council.

Corporate consolidation

The headquarters move consolidates operations from a previous location in Rosebery. The new office is designed for hybrid work, creating a workspace that focuses on employee wellbeing and collaboration with partners.

Hope McGarry, Executive Managing Director of Ingram Micro Australia, said the location reflects an ongoing commitment to serving customers and partners.

"Customer obsession is our mantra and this move to be closer to our customers and vendors reflects this," said McGarry. "The tech industry thrives on relationships, and we're now ideally located to serve our customers and vendors more effectively than ever and maximise our support to the Australian technology ecosystem."

The company's stated goal is to facilitate business growth for local partners while attracting and retaining employees in a dynamic employment market.

"For us as a service business, North Sydney is the ideal environment to attract and retain the best people," said McGarry. "We've invested significantly in building our local expert teams, and this move gives us access to the broadest talent pool for future growth." said McGarry.

Sustainability standards

Located within a 6-star Green Star certified building, the new headquarters aligns with the company's environmental goals. The office tower has also achieved a 5.5 star NABERS energy rating, a 4.5 star NABERS water rating, and additional recognition through Green Star certifications for both construction and performance categories.

These standards are part of Ingram Micro's wider sustainability initiative, the "10 to Zero" programme, aimed at reaching zero greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and injuries by 2030. Recent external assessments placed the company among the top one percent of over 125,000 companies rated by EcoVardis for sustainability efforts during 2024 and 2025.

Logistics and reach

The Sydney headquarters complements Ingram Micro's logistics centre in Eastern Creek, the country's largest technology distribution facility. The centre spans 40,000 square metres and handles more than one million cartons per week, servicing over 15,000 product lines. The operation is designed to reduce environmental impact and improve supply chain efficiency throughout Australia.

Sector integration

In North Sydney, Ingram Micro is positioned near both technology vendors and major IT resellers, including companies such as Data3, Infosys, and HCLTech. The business supports these organisations with a range of services, including logistics, financing, marketing, education, and deep technology specialisations in cloud computing, cyber security, and artificial intelligence.

"We're proud and excited to take residence in 40 Mount Street, an iconic and sophisticated building in the heart of North Sydney's commercial precinct," said McGarry.
