Research conducted by Forrester Consulting on behalf of M-Files, a leader in knowledge work automation, reveals that the M-Files knowledge work automation platform delivers a significant 294% return on investment (ROI) over three years to customers. The study, entitled "The Total Economic Impact of M-Files", was published in August 2023.

The Forrester study pointed out the quantifiable benefits M-Files users experience, such as better searching, faster filing, improved workflows and collaboration, enhanced security and compliance, revenue growth, and increased productivity. Importantly, the study also highlights M-Files' adeptness in pairing well with Microsoft and other integrations, thereby managing documents and information effectively and securely across a global business.

The benefits of using M-Files in conjunction with Microsoft are clear – customers have reported US$7.5 million in benefits while eliminating information chaos. M-Files offers knowledge workers a platform for automating the entire process, from document creation and management to workflow automation, external collaboration, enterprise search, security, compliance, and audit trails. This results in improved process efficiency and reduced business risk, creating a new paradigm for how knowledge work is performed.

Rene van Haaster, independent software vendor lead, Western Europe, Microsoft, stated, "Microsoft empowers individuals and organisations to achieve more with its leading technology stack supported by a strong partner ecosystem. As shown by this Forrester study, our long-term partner M-Files adds significant value to Microsoft customers by securely surfacing the right content. Together, M-Files and Microsoft allow knowledge workers to access information faster, work more effectively, and drive better outcomes."

The Forrester study presented quantifiable benefits for enterprises using M-Files in combination with Microsoft and other applications. These benefits include a 50% improvement in searching for documents and information, a 65% increase in filing documents' speed, a 70% enhancement in workflows, and improved compliance and security leading to time savings of 20% for auditors.

The data used in this analysis was gathered from customer interviews, demonstrating how the integration of M-Files with Microsoft Suite increases employee productivity. One application specialist in the public sector commented on the system's value, noting the usefulness of integrations with other systems alongside the document data stored in M-Files. Similar sentiments were echoed by a Chief Information Officer in consulting and a Head of Records Management in the public sector.

Antti Nivala, founder and chief executive officer of M-Files, noted the crucial role of emergent generative artificial intelligence in transforming knowledge work. He noted that "Our rich integrations with Microsoft empower knowledge workers to thrive in a rapidly evolving world by leveraging the power of automation to eliminate information chaos, improve process efficiency, and reduce business risk."

Customers of M-Files who utilise Microsoft Azure cloud services can directly order M-Files subscription offerings via the Microsoft Azure Marketplace and link their M-Files subscription to their Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC).
