Southern Cyber adopts Check Point's prevention strategy

Today

Southern Cyber, a cyber security provider based in Adelaide, has implemented Check Point Software's prevention-first strategy to bolster its cyber security measures.

Matt Payze, Senior Consultant at Southern Cyber, remarked, "As cyber security challenges grow, businesses must invest in solutions that prioritise manageability, seamless integration, and operational efficiency." He noted the complexity of many security tools as a primary concern, asserting that security tools should be easy to manage and adopt a prevention-first approach.

In line with this strategy, Southern Cyber has selected a range of solutions from Check Point's advanced security suite. This selection was made to strengthen the company's cloud security, remote workforce protection, email security, and mobile endpoint hardening efforts.

The suite implemented by Southern Cyber includes Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration, Harmony Endpoint, Quantum Spark, Harmony SASE, and Harmony Mobile, all managed through Check Point's Infinity Portal. These solutions aim to deliver centralised and seamless security management.

Harmony Email and Collaboration is designed to secure platforms like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and Slack against phishing, business email compromise, ransomware, and malware. Harmony Endpoint provides automated posture management, data loss prevention, and advanced threat detection. Harmony Mobile ensures corporate data is protected by securing mobile devices.

For cloud access, Harmony SASE uses zero-trust controls and offers visibility into SaaS applications with enhanced data security. Quantum Spark is targeted at small and medium-sized businesses, offering security with integration for Wi-Fi 6, 5G, SD-WAN, and IoT protection.

"We chose Check Point for its prevention-first strategy, offering proactive protection and unmatched operational efficiencies that align with our business ethos," Payze continued. He highlighted the seamless integration of Check Point's architecture and APIs with Microsoft 365, providing strong data loss prevention capabilities.

By unifying their security tools within the Infinity Portal, Southern Cyber has enhanced operational efficiency and reduced the complexity associated with managing multiple security platforms. The solutions also allow Southern Cyber to demonstrate compliance with stringent information security frameworks through their robust reporting capabilities.

Payze stated, "Harmony SASE helps protect our mobile workforce, whether in the office, at customer sites, or working remotely." He added that Harmony Endpoint safeguards both Southern Cyber's own devices and those of its customers.

The strategy has also improved Southern Cyber's overall security posture. Payze mentioned the AI-driven cloud security capabilities from Check Point have been crucial in strengthening the company's threat detection and mitigation efforts.

The implementation of Check Point's strategy has resulted in fortified security defences and increased regulatory compliance efficiency for Southern Cyber, thanks to improved threat visibility and proactive threat mitigation.

Reflecting on the partnership with Check Point, Payze commented, "There are substantial advantages in working with an innovative and reputable security vendor such as Check Point." He commended the support received from Check Point and expressed an eagerness to continue the partnership to uphold robust cyber security standards for Southern Cyber's customers.
