Andrea Van Unen-Smith brings more than 20 years of experience in technology marketing and communications to her new role at Senetas, having previously held positions at Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, and UiPath. Her background includes extensive work in driving communication strategy across cybersecurity, networking, and automation.

Andrew Wilson, CEO of Senetas, expressed confidence in Andrea's capabilities, stating: "Andrea is an experienced marketing and communications leader with a deep understanding of the cybersecurity industry. Her appointment to the role of CMO will help us to drive growth in the global markets in which we operate. Her proven ability to develop and implement strategic marketing and communication initiatives will be critical as we continue to bring innovative new products to the market and deepen our relationships with key partners such as Thales."

In her new role as Chief Marketing Officer, Andrea Van Unen-Smith will focus on overseeing the company's marketing and public relations efforts, with an emphasis on aligning with key industry narratives, including the effects of quantum computing on cybersecurity.

Van Unen-Smith expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating, "With increasing investment into quantum computing around the world, and the increasing adoption of AI, organisations from every sector will be looking to technology to both transform the way they work as well as to protect themselves from emerging threats. I'm excited to join Senetas and help raise awareness of its suite of cybersecurity solutions, which are at the forefront of cutting edge quantum-resistant network encryption, enabling businesses to operate with confidence today and in the future."

Senetas, an Australian company, provides cybersecurity solutions designed to protect data for businesses and governments in over 45 countries. These solutions are distributed internationally by Thales and are used to safeguard against data breaches and cyber-attacks. Senetas is known for its network-independent encryption hardware and virtualised solutions, which provide long-term data protection with support from certifications by authorities such as Common Criteria, FIPS, and NATO.

Among its offerings, Senetas provides SureDrop, an encrypted file-sharing and collaboration application, designed to ensure information security and data sovereignty. Available either on-premises or as a software as a service, SureDrop offers functionality akin to box-type file-sharing tools with integration possibilities involving Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Azure. Moreover, Votiro, a subsidiary of Senetas, offers Secure File Gateway, a solution aimed at thwarting malware and zero-day attacks.
