Cult of Monday acquires Mondo Search to strengthen talent focus

Thu, 3rd Jul 2025

Cult of Monday has acquired executive search firm Mondo Search, consolidating their people and talent management services for the technology sector and wider organisations.

Acquisition details

The combination brings together Cult of Monday's workplace transformation capabilities and Mondo Search's 27-year history in executive search. The expanded group aims to target IT firms and other forward-thinking organisations facing long-standing challenges such as talent shortages, leadership capability gaps, and productivity issues.

Both firms are led by Simone Allan, Founder of Mondo Search and the Women's Resilience Centre, and Lauren Pearson, Founder of Cult of Monday. Both leaders have backgrounds in workplace transformation and executive talent delivery, and will work together on a combined portfolio of services.

Leadership roles and focus

As part of the integration, Simone Allan will assume a senior advisory position, bringing her executive search credentials to the merged entity. Lauren Pearson will continue to lead strategic direction, drawing on her expertise in workplace talent transformation.

The focus of the new entity will be on values-based and strengths-driven leadership appointments, as well as learning and development and broader advisory services. The goal is to build resilient, high-performing teams for clients across sectors, with a particular emphasis on lifting productivity and enabling organisational potential.

Strategic benefits

The merger promises several benefits for existing and future clients, including:

  • Comprehensive service offerings to support enterprise-level leadership and organisational development.
  • Access to expanded networks and client bases, enhancing collaborative opportunities.
  • Operational synergies through integrated technologies and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Continued use of the Mondo Search brand to maintain client trust and expand Cult of Monday's leadership development capabilities.

Both sides have expressed a commitment to providing a seamless client experience, delivering strategic insights alongside practical talent and leadership solutions.

Perspectives from leadership

Simone remarked, "This merger allows us to provide our clients with the best of both worlds: Mondo Search's expertise in executive search and Cult of Monday's commitment to leadership development and transformation. Together, we will empower businesses to thrive through stronger, more resilient leadership and a commitment to productivity and innovation."
Lauren Pearson echoed the sentiment, saying, "We're incredibly excited about what this merger means for the future of workplace transformation. With our combined strengths, we're able to offer an even more comprehensive suite of solutions to help organisations unlock their full potential in an ever-changing business environment."

Background on the companies

Cult of Monday operates as a workplace transformation firm, advising organisations on leadership, performance and overall talent strategy. Mondo Search has matched more than 2,800 senior leaders to Australian organisations during its long tenure.

The merged group also draws on broader social impact backgrounds, with Simone Allan having also established the Women's Resilience Centre, a national initiative supporting women and families recovering from domestic abuse through employment and coaching programmes.

Both companies will maintain their existing brands for the foreseeable future, with operational and client service integration taking place to ensure consistency across all projects.
