ET Browne boosts profits & efficiency with SYSPRO ERP upgrade
ET Browne, the maker of Palmer's Cocoa Butter, has significantly improved its operational efficiency by using SYSPRO ERP software to cut costs, boost revenue, and profits. The company has been a user of SYSPRO for more than 25 years and recently upgraded to the latest version of the software.
The recent upgrade to the latest version of SYSPRO ERP has enabled ET Browne to align its business more effectively, taking full advantage of the software's material requirements and planning (MRP) capabilities. As a result, the company has reduced its inventory by 22 per cent, allowing it to achieve an impressive 113 per cent increase in profits, with a year-over-year revenue growth of 7 per cent.
ET Browne, founded in 1840, is well-known for its Palmer's Skin Success products, including Palmer's Cocoa Butter. By leveraging SYSPRO ERP's demand forecasting and supply chain management capabilities, ET Browne has implemented a just-in-time inventory system. This system has reduced the amount of raw materials and products on hand, directly translating into increased profits. The company maintains one month of expected demand and another month as a buffer.
"We've successfully relied on SYSPRO for more than a quarter century while both growing and aligning our business to take advantage of the enhancements of the platform," said Pieter Goes, Vice President of IT & BI at ET Browne. "After bringing in SYSPRO to do native demand forecasts, we were able to better evaluate key markets and key customers, enabling our forecasting and capacity planning to be much more accurate. As a result, we can achieve a fill rate of greater than 95 per cent and are able to process our purchase orders much sooner, resulting in better supply. With these results, people trust the system's capabilities and really work within it. The outcomes speak for themselves."
ET Browne also plans to leverage SYSPRO ERP to manage emerging challenges, particularly the growing need to use recycled materials in packaging to meet consumer, distributor, and governmental demands. The company aims to ensure the use of existing materials before transitioning to recycled ones, which will add complexity to its bill of materials. SYSPRO's management capabilities will assist in handling this increased complexity.
Brian Rainboth, CEO of SYSPRO Americas, commented on the partnership, stating, "SYSPRO ERP provides much more than just financial management. Our platform empowers mid-market manufacturers to create accurate demand forecasts, project exactly how much raw material they'll need to order, and how much product they need to make to meet demand. We're proud to celebrate 25 years with ET Browne and look forward to enabling future growth and profitability as the company deploys additional capabilities with the SYSPRO platform."
