Wed, 29th Oct 2025

Geotab has become a Core Member of the Australian Logistics Council (ALC) as part of its efforts to support data-driven innovation, safety, and sustainability in Australia's freight and logistics industry.

As a result of Core Membership, Geotab will also have representation on the ALC Council, providing additional opportunities to contribute to the sector's progress.

Industry collaboration

Geotab and ALC will work together in areas such as data-driven decision-making, sustainable transport innovation, and efficiency within the national supply chain network. The logistics sector faces growing economic and environmental pressures, increasing the importance of solutions that can support productivity while also improving safety and reducing environmental impacts.

Andrew Hintz, Director of Business Development, Geotab ANZ, commented on the new partnership, stating:

"Geotab is proud to join the Australian Logistics Council as a Core Member. With our shared commitment to improving safety, productivity and sustainability across Australia's supply chains, this relationship marks a significant step in supporting our customers and the broader transport and logistics sector through data-driven innovation."

The ALC acts as the central national organisation representing companies involved across Australia's freight and logistics supply chain. It focuses on advocating for policy settings and regulatory reforms designed to enhance safety and efficiency in logistics operations throughout the country.

Dr Hermione Parsons, Chief Executive Officer and MD of the Australian Logistics Council, welcomed Geotab's involvement. She said:

"We are delighted to welcome Geotab to the ALC. As a global leader in connected transportation solutions, their insights and innovation will be invaluable in shaping the regulatory and operational landscape of Australia's supply chain industry. We look forward to working together to drive outcomes that matter to our members, our economy and our communities."

Focus on technology and sustainability

As pressures mount to create more sustainable and robust supply chains, there is broad interest in applying technology to address these challenges. Geotab specialises in connected vehicle and asset management solutions and leverages advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to help organisations improve their fleet performance and operational efficiency.

Through its partnership with ALC, Geotab aims to contribute its expertise in analytics-based technologies to help stakeholders make better use of data to reduce costs, increase safety, and minimise environmental impacts throughout their supply chains. The company's stated focus areas align with broader industry movements towards digitalisation, cloud connectivity, and greater measurement of key operational metrics.

Role of the Australian Logistics Council

The ALC operates as the peak body for Australia's end-to-end supply chain logistics industry. It plays a central function in bringing together industry stakeholders, policymakers, and regulators to advocate for supply chain productivity and sustainability. The Council's position enables it to coordinate efforts for resilience and dynamic growth within Australia's evolving logistics landscape.

By joining as a Core Member, Geotab gains the ability to contribute to policy discussions and initiatives at a national level and to support efforts aimed at elevating the performance of Australia's freight networks.
