HP unveils OmniBook Ultra PC & OmniStudio X series

HP has revealed its latest innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) with the introduction of the HP OmniBook Ultra, described as the highest-performance AI personal computer (PC) in its portfolio. This announcement signifies HP's ongoing efforts to integrate AI into its product offerings, aimed at enhancing user experience and productivity through advanced technology.

Alex Cho, President of Personal Systems at HP, emphasised the transformative potential of AI in various sectors. "AI is poised to be the most significant driver of change over the next decade, ushering in a new era of innovation driven not just by information, but actionable insights," Cho stated. "HP is making AI real for companies with solutions for people with our first HP OmniBook Ultra."

Among the standout features of the HP OmniBook Ultra is its processing power, facilitated by an AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processor paired with integrated AMD Radeon 800M graphics. This setup, along with the device’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which delivers up to 55 Tera Operations Per Second (TOPS), aims to offer high-speed performance and efficiency, making it suitable for complex AI workloads.

Security has been prioritised with the integration of Wolf Security, extending protection measures traditionally available in commercial devices to this new consumer-grade PC. The security chip included in the HP OmniBook Ultra ensures that the device can self-heal from AI-assisted cyberattacks, thereby safeguarding user data while maintaining productivity.

The OmniBook Ultra is also equipped to support extensive use and sustained operations, offering up to 21 hours of battery life. For those concerned with environmental impact, the device incorporates up to 90% recycled metals and 5% ocean-bound plastics, striving to balance performance with sustainability.

Additionally, HP introduced the HP OmniStudio X series of All-In-One (AIO) desktop PCs, available in 27 and 31.5-inch models. These devices are tailored to serve both creative and professional needs, featuring a combination of CPU, GPU, and NPU to expedite AI applications. It includes up to Intel Core Ultra 7 processors and optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU to optimise workflows in areas such as photo and video editing.

The OmniStudio X series also addresses user comfort and convenience through adaptable designs, including height-adjustable stands and comprehensive USB Type-C connectivity. The devices are equipped with large, high-resolution screens—up to 4K—and feature HP’s AI-powered wellness features, which aim to reduce user fatigue and enhance privacy with presence-sensing capabilities.

The HP OmniStudio X 31.5-inch model, in particular, is promoted as an immersive experience device with IMAX Enhanced certification, promising superior visual and audio quality. Sustainability is a key component of its design, using 25% recycled metals and 35% post-consumer recycled plastics and holding certifications like EPEAT Gold with Climate+ and ENERGY STAR.

HP plans to make the OmniBook Ultra 14-inch Next Gen AI PC available online and at select retailers starting at AUD $2,999. Similarly, the OmniStudio X series will be available from early October, with prices starting at AUD $2,699.

In conjunction with the new hardware, HP is working collaboratively with software developers such as Beautiful.ai, Polymer, Luminar Neo, Omnibridge, Loccus.ai, and Virtual Sapiens. These partnerships are aimed at integrating advanced AI functionalities into the user experience, enhancing productivity and creative capabilities across HP's AI-enabled devices.
