Konica Minolta Australia appoints Tsuyoshi Kanda as MD
Mon, 2nd Nov 2026 (Today)
Konica Minolta Australia has appointed Tsuyoshi Kanda as Managing Director, succeeding Yohei Konaka, who led the business for six years.
Kanda took up the role on 1 November 2026 and will oversee the company's Australian operations. He joins from Konica Minolta's Digital Workplace Business Headquarters in Japan, where he was General Manager of Sales and Strategy.
In that role, he was responsible for the company's printer and multifunction device business across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America. The remit also exposed him to demand from commercial print customers and from organisations seeking more connected and secure digital workplace systems.
Kanda has spent more than 25 years with Konica Minolta. His background includes senior supply chain management roles and nearly six years at Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A.
The leadership change comes as the Australian business continues to expand in two areas: supporting commercial printers with automation, efficiency and application development; and helping organisations manage workflows, information security and digital workplace systems.
Konica Minolta Australia operates across office printing, managed print services, production and industrial print, digital workplace products and information management. It has increasingly positioned itself as serving both print-heavy customers and office users looking to connect document, workflow and information systems.
Kanda outlined those priorities in his first remarks after the appointment.
"Print continues to play an essential role across both production and office environments, but customer needs are changing. Commercial printers are looking for greater automation, consistent quality, more efficient workflows and new ways to grow. At the same time, organisations need to reduce complexity, connect systems and manage information securely across the digital workplace.
"Konica Minolta Australia is well placed to support both priorities by combining print technology, workflow automation, digital workplace solutions and information management expertise. My first priority is to listen to our people, customers and partners, understand where we can have the greatest impact, and build on the strong foundation already in place," said Tsuyoshi Kanda, Managing Director, Konica Minolta Australia.
His comments reflect a dual focus for the local business: helping commercial print operators improve workflow and output consistency, while also supporting organisations that want to simplify document handling and strengthen information security across office environments.
Konaka will remain in Australia for several months to support the handover and work alongside Kanda during the transition.
He said the business was entering a new stage under Kanda's leadership.
"I'm proud of what we have achieved over the past six years. It would not have been possible without the dedication of our people, the trust of our customers and the strong partnerships we have across the industry. Tsuyoshi Kanda understands our business and global network, and his international experience will bring a valuable perspective as the company moves into its next phase. I am confident the company will continue to innovate, grow and create meaningful value for customers and the communities we serve," said Yohei Konaka, Outgoing Managing Director, Konica Minolta Australia.
The appointment also highlights Australia's importance within Konica Minolta's wider regional structure, with the new leader arriving from a role spanning several international markets. His experience across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America and the United States gives him a broad operational background at a time when the local business is balancing established print activity with demand for digital workplace and information management services.
Kanda's initial focus will include listening to staff, customers and partners, and assessing where the business can have the greatest impact.
