KPMG Australia opens Microsoft Dynamics practice in Perth

Today

KPMG Australia has announced the launch of a dedicated Microsoft Dynamics 365 technology implementation practice in Western Australia, based out of its Perth office.

This initiative is led by principal director Rudi van Nieuwenhuizen and initially supported by six Microsoft consulting practitioners. The team aims to provide a range of technology and implementation services focused on Microsoft's suite of intelligent business applications designed to improve business operations through predictive, AI-driven insights.

Mark Bowden, Partner at KPMG Australia, commented on the launch: "With many Western Australia businesses undergoing digital transformation, we are seeing the increased adoption of technology solutions and a growing demand for implementation and integration services. The State's economic fundamentals remain excellent with higher growth and lower unemployment than the rest of the country. Underpinning much of our client's strategies are the deployment of technology – a space that continues to move quickly. We are excited to be launching a dedicated, Perth-based team specialising in Microsoft applications, to service clients in this fast-growing market."

The practice, which will potentially double in size over the next 12 months, reflects KPMG's broader commitment to its Western Australia operations. In line with this commitment, KPMG's Western Australia team recently added six new partners, three of whom are focused on the mid-market sector. This expansion aims to cater to the growing demand and ensure that clients across the state have access to crucial technology and advisory services.

The new Microsoft practice in Perth will complement KPMG's existing award-winning Microsoft teams based in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Collectively, these teams comprise over 200 certified practitioners adept in Microsoft's Azure, D365, Analytics, and Power Platforms. This network of experts enhances KPMG's ability to offer seamless and comprehensive delivery of Microsoft's technology solutions to its clients across Australia.

Hilda Carmichael, Partner-in-Charge, Technology Implementation at KPMG Australia, noted the broader implications of this expansion: "Microsoft is a key technology partner for many Australian organisations, and the Microsoft Dynamics platform is a major enabler for our clients and businesses to leverage the latest technologies, including AI, to drive better business outcomes. We are seeing strong demand nationally for our Microsoft expertise in building impactful digital solutions on Microsoft Cloud, and increasing demand for AI capabilities that is poised for further growth. We see strong potential to grow the business and the team in WA and are delighted to launch a Perth-based practice."

KPMG has a notable track record in Microsoft technology implementation. Recently, the company was recognised at the Microsoft ANZ Partner Awards, winning in the business transformation category for its work in generative AI and AI adoption through its enterprise-grade AI agent, KymChat. KPMG was also a finalist for two 2024 Global Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards in the AI Innovation – Business Transformation and Industry Nonprofit categories.

This development underscores KPMG Australia's strategy to deepen its technological capabilities and meet the growing needs of businesses in Western Australia. The focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 is expected to provide significant benefits to organisations by harnessing AI-driven insights and facilitating better business management.
