The national digital infrastructure group, iseek, has welcomed Linda Brown to its leadership team as Chief Financial Officer. Following an international search, Brown, who boasts an impressive career history with multinational construction and real estate company Lendlease Group, will take up the position, bolstering iseek's planned growth.
Brown spent two decades in senior finance roles for the Lendlease Group, her most recent role being Commercial and Finance Director at the corporation's London headquarters. Now returning to her home state of Queensland, Brown's unique experience with financial management at elite global levels has earned high praise from iseek CEO, Scott Hicks. He said, "her financial management credentials are outstanding, but beyond that, she has focused on building strong relationships with government clients and investors, delivery of capital strategies, and managing one of the largest government infrastructure financing facilities in the UK."
CEO Hicks elaborated on his delight to have Brown join the team, citing her financial management prowess and strong experience as the ideal additions to the team as iseek plans for its next phase of growth. "[Linda] has led large finance teams and multi-billion dollar projects," Hicks adds.
Proudly Queensland born and raised, Brown started her career at PwC in Townsville, earning her chartered accountant qualification after receiving her Bachelor of Business, majoring in accounting. From her career beginnings, Brown progressed through various roles in corporate head offices and in development and construction arenas in both Australia and the UK. Of her most recent role, she stated, "my most recent role was as Commercial and Finance Director for a $10 billion urban regeneration project in East London."
An opportunity from iseek arrived at an opportune moment for Brown and her family. Eager to introduce their two daughters to the Queensland lifestyle, she and her husband decided to return to Australia. Brown says, "I have enjoyed my career with Lendlease but my husband and I wanted our two daughters to experience the Queensland lifestyle, so the offer from iseek could not have come at a better time."
With operations across Australia, including Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Northern Queensland, iseek now hosts a network of seven data centres. Drawing on her extensive corporate and governance experience, Brown is eager to make an impact and mentor staff across the data centre business. Expounded Brown, "it's very exciting to join iseek and I look forward to using the corporate and governance experience I've gained within a large structure to make an impact. It's the ideal role for me at this stage in my career and super exciting to be helping to drive a business that's always looking to the future of technology, cloud platforms and AI."
