LinkedIn unveils top Australian companies for 2025 careers

Today

LinkedIn has announced its 2025 Top Companies list, highlighting the best workplaces for career advancement in Australia.

The newly released list is backed by data and ranks ServiceNow in the top position, with Atlassian, Commonwealth Bank, Amazon, and Oracle completing the top five. Technology companies have made a significant impact on this year's rankings, taking prominent positions due to their focus on modern training and professional development opportunities.

The rankings were determined through the use of LinkedIn data, analysing career progression metrics of numerous professionals, including parameters such as employee promotions, skill acquisition, gender diversity, and employer benefits.

Peyton Caffey, ANZ HR Director at ServiceNow Australia and New Zealand, commented on their top ranking: "As a rapidly growing company always on the hunt for top talent, we focus on both attracting and retaining high-performers. One of the ways we do this is through the ServiceNow People Pact, which is our promise to employees. It commits we will support each other to deliver our best work, live fulfilling lives, and pursue our collective purpose."

ServiceNow's strategy involves creating a community-focused environment prioritising training, growth, and career development while also celebrating individuality. The promise of generous family leave, wellbeing programs, and flexible working options support this approach.

Pritho Saxena, Director of HR - Australia at Amazon, stated: "People are at the heart of everything Amazon does, and we are proud that LinkedIn has recognised Amazon Australia's commitment to providing the resources and opportunities for people to thrive. This incredible recognition is testament to Amazon's ongoing efforts to create a supportive, inclusive, and dynamic workplace."

The recognition by LinkedIn has highlighted companies offering AI and technological training, which are crucial in enabling professionals to stay ahead of industry changes. With AI literacy becoming a priority, companies are keen to integrate upskilling and reskilling programmes into their offerings.

LinkedIn Career Expert, Cayla Dengate explained the usefulness of the list in today's competitive job market: "LinkedIn's Top Companies list is a helpful resource for Aussies to identify which companies set the standard for attracting and retaining top talent, while also offering the best career growth and upskilling opportunities."

She added, "With AI transforming roles across all industries, learning new, in-demand skills is increasingly important among professionals and a key consideration for job seekers when looking at potential future employers."

At Atlassian, Chief People Officer Avani Prabhakar expressed their pride in fostering an environment where employees can thrive: "At Atlassian, our focus is on creating an environment where our people can thrive and this recognition from LinkedIn is a testament to this relentless pursuit. Our Team Anywhere policy gives Atlassians the flexibility to work where they're most productive."

Kathryn van der Merwe, Group Executive, People, Culture and Communications at Telstra, also acknowledged the honour received from LinkedIn, saying: "We're proud to be recognised by LinkedIn for our dedication to creating a workplace where our teams can thrive and grow their careers. We'll continue to prioritise our employees' wellbeing and development and offer benefits that truly matter to our people."

The methodology employed by LinkedIn to determine the rankings considers several factors shown to influence career progression, such as the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, and gender diversity, among others.
