Macquarie Cloud named Australia’s top workplace for second year

Fri, 29th Aug 2025

Macquarie Cloud Services has secured the top position in the Best Workplaces in Australia 2025 list for organisations with 30 to 99 employees.

The Australian cloud provider was recognised following a comprehensive assessment conducted by Great Place to Work Australia, which relies on confidential employee feedback and a detailed analysis of company culture. The ranking highlights the company's focus on fostering a work environment centred on psychological safety, innovation, team connection, and career development.

Evaluation process

Best Workplaces are evaluated on the basis of the Great Place to Work Trust Index survey data. The survey measures three central relationships that underpin an employee's experience in their workplace: the relationship with management, relationships with colleagues, and the individual's connection to their job. The Trust Index score, expressed as a percentage, indicates how many employees consider their company a great workplace and reflects the reality of their workplace experience.

Macquarie Cloud Services has achieved the number one ranking for the second consecutive year in this category, with the assessment process placing significant weight on the authenticity of staff feedback and cultural analysis.

Company reaction

"Winning this award two years in a row is a recognition of our people and the culture we've built together at Macquarie Cloud Services," said James Mystakidis, Group Executive, Macquarie Cloud Services. "I'm incredibly proud of our team for once again setting the benchmark. "What sets us apart is our ability to build around our purpose; helping customers who are underserved and overcharged. That focus has created a workplace culture I'm proud to be a part of, and it's what continues to drive our success," Mystakidis added.

The company attributes its repeated success to an organisational ethos that prioritises purposeful customer support and strong internal relationships, supporting both employee experience and organisational outcomes.

Views from Great Place to Work

"These companies have proven that when you build a workplace founded on trust, pride, and camaraderie, you create the conditions for both employee flourishing and exceptional business performance," said Rebecca Moulynox, General Manager of Great Place to Work Australia.

According to Great Place to Work Australia, the organisations featured in the 2025 Best Workplaces in Australia list demonstrate that a positive organisational culture is a significant strategic asset, contributing not only to staff wellbeing but also to consistent business performance.

Assessment and recognition

Throughout the evaluation process, Macquarie Cloud Services was noted for its unique culture, which was described as 'personable' and instrumental in advancing employee innovation and connection. The company reported high scores on aspects relating to psychological safety and career development opportunities, factors cited as central in both the feedback from staff and the Trust Index survey results.

The criteria for assessment are designed to ensure the rankings reflect the genuine experiences of employees and the tangible elements of organisational culture, rather than purely operational or financial performance indicators.

Industry context

The recognition places Macquarie Cloud Services among Australian companies that have adopted practices aimed at building sustainable workplace environments, where employee wellbeing is a key consideration. The survey and ranking process has come to be viewed across industries as a marker of internal trust and organisational health.

With this repeat achievement, Macquarie Cloud Services reinforces its position among technology sector employers focusing on structured, supportive work cultures in Australia.
