Multiverse unveils on-premise AI device for SMEs in Australia

Yesterday

Multiverse Partners Technology has unveiled the SELODE Mother Box, a new AI device tailored for small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Australia.

Developed by a team of senior quantitative scientists and modellers based in Sydney, the SELODE Mother Box offers a secure and compact AI solution that does not require cloud services, addressing contemporary concerns over data privacy and sovereignty. CEO Gerard Solden stated, "Small-to-medium-sized businesses will finally have an option to be secure without being forced to choose between the productivity gains of AI and significant data security or IP concerns. The SELODE Mother Box will be the first AI device where customers don't have to think twice about what confidential data they are uploading, as the data will always stay with the customer on-premise."

Key features of the SELODE Mother Box include team and personal memory spaces for secure data management, a document chatbot for efficient data interaction, audio transcription tools, interactive spreadsheet analysis, and an easy-to-use admin panel. These attributes collectively aim to enhance productivity and data control for SMEs without relying on external services.

Aside from functionality, the SELODE Mother Box is noteworthy for its compact size and energy efficiency. Measuring approximately the size of a tissue box, it is designed to operate sustainably with an energy consumption of 21.9 kWh per user per year. This design aligns with the goal of reducing operational costs while maintaining a minimal ecological impact of 0.06 kWh per day per user.

The Mother Box supports up to 100 users and is described as bringing data centre capabilities on-premise, thus eliminating the need for upgrading external hardware to accommodate AI functionalities. This is intended to reduce short to long-term business costs.

Solden remarked, "The Mother Box delivers AI that's not just accessible but transformative. It's about giving businesses the tools they need to innovate confidently while safeguarding their data." The device aims to assist sectors like finance, legal services, accounting, healthcare, and retail by ensuring data sovereignty and assisting in compliance with Australian data privacy laws.

Regarding affordability, the SELODE Mother Box is priced at AUD $5,990 upfront, with subscription options of AUD $275 per month for up to 30 users or AUD $550 per month for up to 100 users. Multiverse Partners Technology also offers an introductory subscription price of AUD $1 for the first month to make the technology more accessible to businesses of varying sizes.

The launch of the SELODE Mother Box marks a significant step for Multiverse Partners Technology in demonstrating Australian capability in overcoming global AI adoption challenges. The company underscores a commitment to fostering economic growth and advancing technology through tailored, secure AI solutions.
