NetDocuments unveils AI-driven document management system

Fri, 25th Oct 2024

NetDocuments has introduced what it describes as an intelligent document management system (DMS) aimed at advancing legal AI strategies.

The new platform, dubbed the Intelligent DMS, is designed to transition the traditional DMS from merely managing content to playing a pivotal role in a law firm's AI strategy. It offers legal professionals a suite of AI capabilities that integrate with Microsoft 365 and other tools widely used by legal teams.

Josh Baxter, Chief Executive Officer of NetDocuments, stated, "We've all experienced the frustration of having to subscribe to multiple streaming services just to watch the shows we want. Legal professionals shouldn't face that same headache when it comes to legal AI technology. With our intelligent DMS, firms get access to the essential AI apps and AI-driven tools they need to drive efficiency, productivity, and accuracy, without the hassle of integrating countless vendors. Rather than taking your content to AI, we are bringing AI to your content."

The platform now includes a variety of AI-enhanced features, such as the Legal AI Assistant and App Builder powered by PatternBuilder MAX. The ndMAX Legal AI Assistant, currently in a closed beta phase, was presented at ILTACON 2024 and is anticipated to be available globally by the end of the year.

The Intelligent DMS also includes a growing suite of pre-built, legal-specific apps designed to enhance productivity and simplify vendor management. Notably, the platform aims to lift the burden of managing separate AI tools, which often require diverse vendor integrations.

Among the new pre-built applications is the Issues List Generator, which automatically compiles key issues from contracts or case files. Other tools include the Contract Playbook Generator, which assists in creating negotiation playbooks with clause suggestions and risk strategies, and the Deposition Prep organiser, designed to simplify deposition preparation by organising case materials and preparing key questions.

The Due Diligence application automates document review processes during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring thorough analysis and flagging potential risks. Additionally, the Immigration Letter Drafter provides tailored support letters for immigration cases, integrating seamlessly into the daily operations of legal professionals.

Dan Hauck, Chief Product Officer at NetDocuments, commented, "NetDocuments is redefining what customers are expecting from a document management system. When we talk about an intelligent platform, we mean it. We securely store and intelligently manage your documents. We offer purpose-built legal AI applications that enhance productivity and legal AI assistants that bring the insights and answers to you. And we will deliver semantic search that helps lawyers find exactly what they are looking for. NetDocuments is the optimal platform for legal professionals to safely leverage AI across their documents and workflows, and this will only continue to grow as we consistently release new capabilities like auto-profiling and background apps in the near future."

NetDocuments is a cloud-based content management and productivity platform that helps legal professionals do their best work. Backed by 25 years of experience in cloud innovation, NetDocuments offers a complete end-to-end platform for document and email organisation and management, including automation and AI capabilities; robust security, collaboration, and search technologies; seamless integrations with other tools professionals use daily; and a suite of large language model AI-powered solutions with the security and guardrails to manage AI responsibly.
