Oracle NetSuite has launched SuiteSkills, a set of prebuilt AI business tools for customers designed to work with a range of AI services.

SuiteSkills lets organisations apply NetSuite data, process knowledge and industry-specific functions through AI systems connected to the software. The tools are intended to help teams examine issues, assess business effects and take action inside NetSuite under existing user roles and permissions.

The launch adds more than 45 skills across finance, billing, inventory, projects, sales, customer service and workforce management. They can be used with AI models connected through the AI Connector Service and are also available in Ask Oracle within NetSuite Next.

More than 13,000 customers have already adopted the NetSuite AI Connector Service, according to the company. The service lets customers connect their chosen AI models to NetSuite data and tools while keeping access and actions subject to permissions already set in the system.

Evan Goldberg, founder and executive vice president at Oracle NetSuite, said the release is aimed at customers that want to use AI without changing how control over business processes is managed.

"Organisations want to put AI to work in ways that fit their business and unique processes," said Evan Goldberg, founder and executive vice president at Oracle NetSuite. "SuiteSkills give our customers more ways to apply NetSuite's business expertise through the AI service of their choice. Because NetSuite connects financial and operational processes across the entire business, SuiteSkills can put that expertise to work for employees wherever they sit in the organization. NetSuite remains the core system that connects and secures business information, processes, and actions, while SuiteSkills help customers get more value from AI without compromising control over what people can access and do."

Finance focus

Several of the new tools target finance and accounting work. They are intended to help teams review material variances, identify blockers in the close process and examine differences in reconciliations.

One example is the Variance and Flux Analysis skill, designed to separate recurring changes from timing effects and one-off items. That should help finance teams prepare management commentary and focus attention on issues that need review.

Billing and cash flow are another area of focus. The Revenue Leakage skill is intended to distinguish possible underbilling and unbilled delivery from accounting exceptions so billing and finance teams can decide where follow-up is required.

Operations and projects

NetSuite is also using the release to address operational workflows. In inventory and fulfilment, the tools are meant to help teams investigate inventory imbalances, fulfilment delays and differences in work-order costs.

NetSuite highlighted Inventory Movement Insights and Fulfilment Performance Insights as examples designed to help users understand the causes of exceptions and choose next steps. In project management and service delivery, the tools can turn statements of work into editable plans and support staffing assessments.

The Project Operations Assistant, for instance, is intended to recommend personnel matched to roles and support the creation of projects and tasks from a plan that has already been reviewed and approved. The emphasis is on assisting internal workflows rather than replacing formal approval steps.

Customer and workforce use

For sales and customer service teams, the new skills are designed to pull together account and case information so staff can prepare for customer interactions with less manual research. The Sales Assistant and Customer Support Assistant can produce suggested insights, responses and next steps for employees to review.

The product set also extends to workforce management. The Labour Cost Advisor and Time-to-Pay Reconciliation Auditor are intended to help finance and workforce teams identify spending patterns and discrepancies between time records and pay, while keeping access to employee information within NetSuite permissions.

The release reflects a broader effort by business software providers to let customers use AI models from different sources rather than relying on a single embedded assistant. Customers can use NetSuite's own embedded AI products, including Ask Oracle and SuiteAgents, or connect external models through the AI Connector Service.

SuiteSkills is being made available to NetSuite customers through GitHub and AI service marketplaces. The release is part of the company's open platform approach, allowing customers to choose how they deploy AI with NetSuite data and workflows.
