SAP appoints new leaders to boost ANZ public sector growth
SAP has announced two new leadership appointments in its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region to enhance its public sector engagement and drive growth.
Brian Senior has been appointed as Executive General Manager, Federal Government, SAP ANZ, and Gretta Svendsen will serve as Executive General Manager – Corporate, SAP ANZ. These appointments are part of SAP's strategy to strengthen its presence in the ANZ cloud market.
Angela Colantuono, President and Managing Director SAP ANZ, explained the rationale behind these appointments.
"Businesses across ANZ are navigating increasing pressure to digitise and speedily innovate. For more than 35 years, SAP has worked with ANZ businesses to operate, compete and deliver value," she said.
"Now, with our modern cloud and AI solutions, both existing and new customers are turning to us to adapt and scale in this era. The combined expertise and vision that Brian and Gretta bring, combined with their deep relationships in the public sector and with partners, will play a vital role as SAP continues to deliver solutions that create real impact."
SAP underlines its commitment to supporting the government and public sector by simplifying operations and enhancing productivity. Brian Senior, who will be based in Canberra, brings more than 20 years of experience in sovereign hyperscale cloud solutions, having previously worked with Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
His understanding of the public sector landscape is expected to be crucial for SAP's strategic work with government agencies.
"My background and experience in sovereign cloud solutions have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the unique needs of government agencies. As a long-time Canberran, I am thrilled to join SAP and apply this knowledge locally when working with our customers," said Brian Senior.
"With SAP's deep history across the government and public sector in ANZ, I am excited to help even more organisations maximise the transformative impact of AI and cloud technologies, as they accelerate their digital journey while improving efficiency gains, fostering innovation, and delivering enhanced services to citizens."
The company also recognises the importance of partner channels to deliver value to customers, and is focusing on expanding these opportunities.
Gretta Svendsen will lead the partner-led growth strategy in her role, with an emphasis on collaboration and operational excellence. This approach follows a successful trial in the region in 2024, aiming to enhance innovation and business transformation through partners.
Gretta Svendsen, based in Sydney, expressed her enthusiasm for her new role: "I'm always excited by new challenges and driven by helping customers transform. With AI reshaping business operations, we're in an era of innovation. SAP is poised to lead, and to stay ahead, we must scale through our partners and digital channels - that's the future."
