Seer Data has launched metiora, an AI platform for tracking commitments, evidence and social outcomes. The Australian-built product is aimed at funders, companies, charities and government bodies.

The launch comes as organisations face growing pressure to show what results follow billions of dollars in grants, community spending and impact investment. In the 2025 financial year, major banks, insurers, telecommunications groups and retailers in Australia reported more than AUD $1.1 billion in community contributions, while charities received AUD $14.8 billion in annual donations and bequests. The country's impact investment market reached AUD $157 billion in invested capital by June 2025.

Metiora is designed to bring together information that often sits across internal teams, existing software systems and external partners. The platform links commitments, investments, activities and evidence, aiming to reduce manual reporting work that can take weeks or months.

Users can track responsibilities, progress and outcomes against a range of frameworks, including B4SI, the Sustainable Development Goals, ISO/UNDP 53001:2026, CSRD, ESRS and Reconciliation Action Plans. The platform is also intended to help organisations spot patterns, duplication, risks and gaps, and share information with partners.

Its development drew on concept testing with more than 150 customers and partners, including Australia's four major banks. Seer Data says the system is built around responsible AI principles, with access permissions for sensitive data, traceability for AI-assisted insights and final decisions left to human users.

"We have built metiora to answer three fundamental questions: What did we commit to? Are we delivering? And what difference are we making?" said Kristi Mansfield, Founder and CEO of Seer Data and metiora.

"The challenge is that commitments, funding and evidence often sit in different systems. metiora helps bring that information together so people can see what is happening, ask better questions and decide where to act. Human judgement and accountability remain essential," Mansfield said.

Early users

Among the first customers are the Snow Foundation and Partnerships for Local Action and Community Empowerment, known as PLACE. Representatives from both organisations joined a panel at the Sydney launch alongside Lee Hickin, Executive Director of the National AI Centre, to discuss impact measurement, governance and decision-making.

Georgina Byron AM, Chief Executive Officer of the Snow Foundation, said the platform addresses a long-standing issue for funders trying to judge whether capital is being used effectively.

"We constantly look at whether our partners are achieving impact and whether we are deploying capital as effectively as we can. Measurement has always been there, but having it all in one place, across the themes we are interested in and the financials, is a gamechanger," Byron said.

Infrastructure choice

The platform has been built to work with an organisation's existing cloud infrastructure and preferred AI models, rather than requiring a single provider. It also connects to systems already in use and combines structured information with documents, evaluations and narrative material.

That positioning reflects a wider concern among buyers over data control, governance and vendor lock-in as AI tools move into grantmaking, public spending and programme assessment. In sectors where sensitive community, financial and operational information must be handled carefully, organisations are placing as much emphasis on audit trails and control over deployment as on automation itself.

Seer Data holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification for information security and is aligning its AI governance practices with ISO/IEC 42001, a standard for AI management systems. The company was also named a finalist in the Best Application of Responsible AI category at the 2026 Australian AI Awards and selected for the Buy Australian AI Partnership Program, delivered by Stone & Chalk with the National AI Centre as Principal Sponsor.

Founded in 2016, Seer Data develops data and AI software focused on social outcomes. Its other platform, Seer Communities, is used for community data access, sharing and storytelling by local leaders, service providers, funders and government bodies.

"Trust depends on people being able to understand the evidence behind a report and take responsibility for the decisions they make," Mansfield said.

"We want to reduce the work involved in bringing information together, while giving organisations a clearer basis for deciding what to continue, change or fund next," she said.
