Soti partners with Urovo to reduce transport downtime

SOTI has announced a strategic partnership with Urovo, aimed at reducing mobile device-related downtime in the transportation and logistics industry.

According to research by SOTI, an overwhelming 98% of Australian transportation and logistics workers rely on mobile technology in their daily operations, with each employee experiencing an average of 16 hours of lost time monthly due to device malfunctions. Identifying the source of these issues can be challenging, with 32% of workers struggling to pinpoint problems and 39% indicating a lack of immediate IT support access, thereby exacerbating downtime and disrupting timely deliveries.

SOTI has responded to these challenges with SOTI XSight, which now supports Urovo's advanced smart batteries. This collaboration offers organisations real-time data on battery health, performance, and location, enabling businesses to predict and preempt battery failures. By doing so, operations can proceed seamlessly, allowing drivers to maintain schedules without the hindrance of technical setbacks. The partnership between Urovo's hardware capabilities and SOTI's diagnostic tools aims to reduce critical disruptions such as battery failures and connectivity issues.

Urovo's smart batteries provide crucial metrics including manufacture date, charge capacity, current health, temperature, cycle count, and serial number. Feeding directly into SOTI XSight, these metrics allow IT teams to assess the usage patterns of each battery, letting organisations replace only those at risk of failing, rather than discarding entire batches prematurely.
