Trend Micro boosts ANZ team with new Managing Director

Thu, 8th Feb 2024

Global cybersecurity leader, Trend Micro, has announced the appointment of Srujan Talakokkula to the role of Managing Director for its Commercial business in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). This is one of a series of new appointments aimed at bolstering the ANZ leadership team and demonstrating the company's ongoing commitment to local customers and partners.

Coming to the role with over 17 years of industry experience in enterprise technology and cybersecurity, Talakokkula has been with Trend Micro for over 14 years. He has spent more than a decade driving sales in the ANZ region and has substantial business growth in the healthcare sector under his belt. Prior to his new role, Talakokkula worked for nearly five years as Trend Micro's Enterprise Sales Leader for the Northern Region.

In his capacity as Managing Director, Talakokkula will focus on driving the growth of Trend Micro's ANZ business. A key part of his role will be to improve the overall customer experience while creating maximum revenue opportunities for channel partners.

Talakokkula highlighted the critical stage of cybersecurity for businesses in Australia and New Zealand: "With a strong commitment to local research and development, our teams at Trend Micro constantly maintain a feedback loop that provides valuable data, which can inform strategic decision-making." He added, "With Trend Micro's strong footprint in the banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) and Government sectors, customer suggestions ensure that our innovation and offerings in the market are tailored to the local threat landscape."

Talakokkula's appointment is part of a broader expansion of Trend Micro's local leadership team. This includes the recent appointments of Andrew Philp as the Platform Strategy Director for ANZ, Martyn Beal as the Federal Government Strategic Lead, Chelsea Docherty as the NSW Enterprise Business Lead, Luke Stephensen as the WA, SA, and QLD Enterprise Business Lead, and Micheal Basha as the Mid Market Lead for ANZ.

Dhanya Thakkar, Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & US-AMEA Sales at Trend Micro, praised the company's history of promoting its homegrown leaders, attributing such a practice to the company's consistent global growth over 100 quarters. Thakkar said, "In a time when cybersecurity has never been more prominent in the boardroom, Srujan's dedication to local customers along with his vision for the team he is building paves the way for an exciting year ahead for the Australia and New Zealand region."
