Watco has partnered with Blue Yonder to enhance its freight services with real-time pricing and booking capabilities.
Faced with challenges such as labour shortages, fluctuating demand, and rising costs, the transportation industry has experienced notable disruptions in recent years. This collaboration is designed to assist shippers by easing these pressures. Historically, shippers encountered high freight rates for urgent bookings, while carriers and logistics service providers grappled with excess capacity and increased operating expenses.
Watco, a transportation and logistics company that operates in North America and Australia, has leveraged Blue Yonder's Dynamic Price Discovery solution to offer real-time market rates. This system allows for immediate provision of spot quotes with assured capacity, thereby fulfilling and often exceeding customer needs.
Bayer CropScience LP, a customer benefitting significantly from this collaboration, utilises Blue Yonder's transportation management solutions, including Dynamic Price Discovery, as part of its digital transformation strategy. Over 80% of Bayer CropScience's 2024 bookings with Watco were conducted through this innovative system.
