Broadband stories - Page 43
In two words, Broadband is a fast connection. To the internet, of course. While ‘fast’ isn’t generally defined as it is a moving target (what was considered fast 5 years ago isn’t considered fast today), Broadband generally refers to the fastest available consumer connections regardless of technology type. Wireless networks or fibre networks are equally described as ‘Broadband connections’, often prefixed as ‘wireless Broadband’ or ‘Fibre Broadband’. The name derives from the broad array of technologies available for the creation of a high-capacity internet connection.
