AvePoint introduces AI benchmarking for Microsoft 365 users

Today

AvePoint has announced new benchmarking data capabilities for Microsoft 365 Copilot, integrated with its AvePoint tyGraph solution, aiming to provide organisations with critical insights into their AI adoption and usage patterns in comparison to others.

The newly introduced benchmarking capabilities are designed to help organisations compare against their peers by providing anonymised data on licensing and Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption. This functionality allows organisations to establish quantitative growth targets and identify their standing in the AI adoption landscape.

AvePoint has also added predictive analytics features to its platform. These features aim to assist organisations in assigning licenses to individuals whose behaviours in Microsoft 365 suggest a propensity for high AI adoption.

The analytics enable identification of users who champion AI integration in daily functions and leaders who drive change management effectively.

Activity scores have been included as part of the enhancements to AvePoint's offerings. These scores offer detailed insights into the activity levels of Microsoft 365 Copilot users, revealing areas of under-utilisation and hurdles to adoption. With this data, organisations can craft bespoke learning and development strategies to foster sustainable AI use and transformation.

John Peluso, Chief Technology Officer at AvePoint, commented, "Realising the full potential of AI requires a balanced approach that includes analysing your AI adoption and identifying champion users to model the type of productivity and innovation you're looking for."

"But just focusing on that without ensuring your data is properly governed and secured could lead to immense challenges."

"With the AvePoint Confidence Platform, we offer organisations a comprehensive solution so that they do not have to choose between adoption, speed, and security."

The enhancements are part of the AvePoint Confidence Platform, which is engineered to support secure and effective AI initiatives.

This platform incorporates solutions like MyHub, an application designed for managing Microsoft 365 workspaces. The latest features in MyHub, now in private preview, include risk assessments that enable data owners to manage permissions and address issues such as sensitive file shares and oversharing of links.

John Hodges, AvePoint's Chief Product Officer, stated, "Our data governance solution MyHub brings data security to the business owner and allows them to apply the right business context to their data. When the burden of data security and governance is solely put on an IT team, it's not only inefficient, but it can also be inaccurate, which is why we believe our enhancements to MyHub are critical and go beyond what's currently in the market."

The company's efforts in these enhancements align with findings from Gartner that indicate a significant percentage of generative AI projects will not proceed beyond proof of concept without effective data management and governance frameworks.

Gartner predicts that by 2027, 60% of organisations will not fully realise the value of their AI investments due to inadequate governance structures.

AvePoint reports managing over 500 petabytes of data and executing daily around 240,000 governance operations. The company's customer base exceeds 21,000 globally.

These solutions are crafted to support secure and efficient AI integration, providing significant contributions to the optimisation of AI without exposing organisations to undue risks.

Notably, AvePoint was recognised as a 2024 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award winner and a finalist in various security awards, underlining its position in the AI and data management sectors.
