Bizcap named among Australia's top workplaces for women
Bizcap has been named one of Australia's Best Workplaces for Women 2026 by workplace culture firm Great Place To Work, adding a gender equity accolade to recognition it received last year for its broader workplace practices.
Great Place To Work's annual list recognises 50 organisations in Australia. The programme links employee sentiment with organisational practices and uses external benchmarks to assess progress on gender equity.
The assessment includes confidential staff feedback and an analysis of workplace culture. It also draws on insights from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, which collects and reports data on gender equality indicators across Australian workplaces.
Bizcap is a non-bank lender providing working capital to small and medium-sized businesses across multiple markets. It has expanded internationally in recent years.
Great Place To Work positions the list as a measure of how companies translate workplace policies into day-to-day experience, and as evidence that inclusive practices can sit alongside commercial performance.
Culture measures
Bizcap said it has focused on leadership development, flexible work and defined performance processes as part of its approach to gender equity, with psychological safety also a priority.
Employee feedback is central to Great Place To Work's methodology, relying on responses about trust, management credibility and fairness, as well as views on workplace support and opportunities for career progression.
Bizcap Deputy CEO (APAC) and Global Chief Revenue Officer Rebecca del Rio said the recognition reflected active work by the business.
"At Bizcap, we believe high performance and inclusive leadership are inseparable. This recognition is a testament to the intentional work we've done to create an environment where women are empowered to lead, innovate and drive commercial outcomes," del Rio said.
Del Rio said the business views leadership pathways as both a commercial and workplace issue.
"When women have equal access to leadership pathways, our business benefits. Diverse perspectives strengthen our strategy, improve risk calibration, challenge conventional thinking and ultimately enhance our ability to compete. That philosophy extends beyond gender. From the very beginning, we have intentionally built teams with complementary strengths and experiences because diversity of thought makes us more innovative, more resilient and better aligned to the clients we serve," she said.
Workplace practices
Bizcap described its internal practices as including clear career progression pathways and leadership development programmes, as well as flexible work arrangements, transparent remuneration processes and structured advancement frameworks.
It said leadership development is aimed at women across commercial, operational and executive roles, and that leaders are expected to apply consistent decision-making and recognise performance.
Senior People and Culture Manager Kirsty Nixon said employee feedback was central to the recognition.
"It tells us our people feel supported and confident in their ability to grow here. From the beginning, our founders and senior leadership team have been aligned on building a true meritocracy, where advancement is driven by performance, capability and impact," Nixon said.
Co-Founder and CEO Zalman Blachman linked the recognition to leadership behaviour and decision-making standards.
"We hold our leaders to high standards in fostering that environment, ensuring opportunity is tangible, expectations are clear and performance is consistently recognised," Blachman said.
He said the People and Culture team helps embed those expectations across the organisation.
"Our People and Culture team plays a critical role as a partner to leadership, helping embed these standards across the organisation so they are experienced consistently at every level," he said.

Great Place To Work said the organisations on the list showed how workplace practices can be measured through staff experience and business outcomes.
Great Place To Work Australia and New Zealand general manager Rebecca Moulynox said the list reflected a shift from public commitments to demonstrable practices.
"These companies aren't just talking about gender equity, they're proving it works. They've created cultures where psychological safety, flexible work, and career development aren't buzzwords, they're business strategies delivering measurable results for employees and shareholders alike," Moulynox said.
Bizcap said it will continue to review its approach to opportunity and advancement as it grows across markets and adds staff in different functions.
