Bizcap names Rebecca del Rio Deputy CEO for APAC
Bizcap has promoted Rebecca del Rio to Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Asia-Pacific, expanding her leadership role at the business lender as it steps up international growth.
Del Rio will hold the new regional position alongside her existing role as Global Chief Revenue Officer. She will continue to oversee Bizcap's global revenue strategy in that capacity.
Her promotion follows a period of rapid expansion for Bizcap. The company launched in 2019 and focuses on non-bank lending for small and medium-sized businesses.
Bizcap has funded AUD $4.8 billion globally since inception. It funded AUD $1.5 billion in 2025 across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, Europe, the US and Canada.
The lender reports an 80% increase in global headcount year-on-year. The company has also expanded its presence in multiple international markets over that period.
Del Rio joined Bizcap at its launch six years ago. She has taken on progressively wider leadership duties as the company has grown.
Her remit now covers marketing, sales, partnerships, people and culture, analytics, innovation and product. This set of functions gives her oversight across both commercial and internal operations.
Bizcap says her portfolio has broadened as the firm entered new markets and scaled operations. Her responsibilities now extend across regions including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, Europe and Canada.
The new Deputy CEO for APAC role sits within a wider leadership structure at Bizcap. The company operates a collaborative model across its executive team.
Global Chief Operating Officer Adam Szental leads operational functions. Chief Credit Officer Tony Truong oversees credit and risk.
Co-founders Zalman Blachman, Abraham White and Albert Gafhi set the group's strategic direction. Del Rio's expanded role aligns with this structure and adds an APAC-focused leadership layer.
Bizcap positions the appointment as part of its next phase of strategic development. The company is targeting further growth across existing and new markets.
Blachman said del Rio had played a central role in Bizcap's development since its earliest days.
"Rebecca has played a significant role in Bizcap's journey and growth. Her commitment, expertise, and collaboration with our broader leadership team have helped shape who we are today. We're excited to see her continue contributing to our collective success in this next chapter," said Zalman Blachman, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Bizcap.
White also highlighted her influence on the firm's culture and strategy.
"It has been a privilege to see Rebecca's vision and dedication contribute to Bizcap's culture and strategic direction. She brings an energy that strengthens our leadership team, and I'm looking forward to all that's ahead," said White.
Del Rio said she viewed the new role as an opportunity to build on her experience with the company since inception.
"I'm honoured to step into the role of Deputy CEO for APAC. Having grown with Bizcap from day one, I'm deeply passionate about our mission, as well as our partners and customers. I'm incredibly grateful to have the trust of our founders, executive team and global partners to support the next stage of Bizcap's growth and innovation," she said.
Bizcap serves small and medium-sized enterprises in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, Europe and Canada. It offers funding with approvals that can occur in as little as three hours and same-day disbursement in some cases.
The lender says it has funded more than 66,000 SMEs worldwide. It reports a Trustpilot rating of 4.8 out of 5.
Bizcap is now advancing its international expansion plans. Del Rio's new role as Deputy CEO for APAC places her at the centre of those efforts across Asia-Pacific markets.
