BlackLine hires Sumit Johar as new global Chief Information Officer

BlackLine, a driving force in digital finance transformation, has confirmed the appointment of Sumit Johar as their new Chief Information Officer (CIO). With his duties commencing on February 12th, Johar will manage Information Technology and Information Security on a global level for the company under the direct supervision of Co-CEO Therese Tucker.

Tucker expressed enthusiasm regarding the new appointment, stating, “Sumit’s extensive SaaS and intelligent automation experience, coupled with his deep knowledge of emerging technology and AI, aligns perfectly with our vision and will prove invaluable in fostering innovation and bringing a competitive edge to our global business operations." She added, "With Sumit on the executive leadership team, we are poised to advance and accelerate our own digital transformation and scale operations."

Johar is no stranger to the technology sector, entering BlackLine with over two decades of enterprise cloud experience under his belt, specialising in the fields of applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, engineering and automation. Prior to his position at BlackLine, he held the title of CIO at Automation Anywhere, a company renowned for offering AI-centric intelligent automation solutions. Prior to Automation Anywhere, Johar served as the CIO at enterprise mobile security provider MobileIron where, within the first two years, he was successful in trimming operational costs to make room for digital transformation initiatives. He also accrued invaluable experience at management level in consulting and engineering positions at Wipro and Infosys, and as the leader of Enterprise Applications at TIBCO Software for a decade.

Johar is a graduate from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, where he earned his Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering.
