Celonis named Everest Leader in process mining again
Wed, 22nd Jul 2026 (Today)
Celonis has been named a Leader in Everest Group's 2026 PEAK Matrix Assessment for Process Mining. It is the seventh consecutive year Everest Group has placed the company in the Leader category.
Everest ranked Celonis highest in the assessment, citing market adoption, portfolio mix, value delivered, process setup and discovery, process intelligence, and implementation and support.
The ranking adds to a series of recent endorsements for the Munich-based process mining software company. Earlier this year, Gartner also named Celonis a Leader in its Magic Quadrant for Process Intelligence Platforms, where Celonis said it ranked furthest on Completeness of Vision and highest on Ability to Execute for the third year in a row.
Process mining software analyses data generated by business systems to show how work moves through an organisation. Companies use it to identify delays, bottlenecks, and deviations in operational processes across finance, procurement, supply chains, and customer service.
Everest estimated the process mining market was worth USD $1.5 billion to USD $1.6 billion in 2025. The research firm said the sector was expanding at about 24% a year and expected annual growth of 20% to 25% in the years ahead.
Market factors
In its assessment, Everest pointed to product and market developments at Celonis, including work on agentic AI, data integration, decision intelligence, and process orchestration. It also noted Celonis's efforts to extend process intelligence beyond internal operations to customers, suppliers, and other partners.
Everest also said Celonis achieved the highest reported capability scores in the criteria covering market adoption, portfolio mix, value delivered, process setup and discovery, process intelligence, and implementation and support.
Among the product changes highlighted were the introduction of the Context Model, an expansion of the Agent Toolkit through the Model Context Protocol, updates to the Orchestration Engine, and infrastructure changes in Celonis Data Core to support larger volumes of data from multiple sources.
Celonis also introduced a product called Networks, designed to apply process intelligence across organisations and their external ecosystems. This reflects a broader push in business software to connect operational analysis with supplier relationships, customer workflows, and cross-company execution.

Executive comments
Amardeep Modi, Vice President, Everest Group, commented on the assessment.
"Celonis has reinforced its position as a Leader on Everest Group's Process Mining Products PEAK Matrix 2026, driven by its strong vision, advanced product capabilities, and robust partnership ecosystem. Continued investments in innovative capabilities such as a context layer for enterprise AI, MCP server, data integration, decision intelligence, and process copilot have strengthened its market position. Clients highlighted Celonis' innovation agility, deployment speed, robustness of the tool, product training, and customer service as key strengths," said Modi.
Much of Celonis's recent product messaging has centred on the role of process data in enterprise AI systems. The company argues that AI tools need a fuller operational picture of how tasks connect across systems and teams if they are to make reliable business decisions.
Eugenio Cassiano, EVP Corporate Strategy and Innovation, Celonis, said: "We are honoured to be recognised again this year, and to support our customers' continued success. To make enterprise AI work, organisations need more than data and models: they need a true Business Operating Model, the connected map of how work actually flows across people, systems, and processes.
"Celonis's unique technology, rooted in process mining, gives AI agents exactly that: not a snapshot of isolated tasks, but the process relationships and causal connections across the entire value chain, so agents understand not just what is happening, but why, and how to make it run better.
"That relational depth is what separates us from classical analytics, and it is exactly what Everest Group's recognition affirms: superior capabilities, continuous innovation, and the ability to drive meaningful value for our customers."
AI and data
Celonis has spent much of the past year linking process mining to the rise of AI agents in large companies. Its Context Model combines process data, business knowledge, and decision intelligence to create a process-centric digital representation of an organisation's operations.
Celonis said the model has been strengthened by its agreement to acquire Ikigai Labs, a specialist in AI decision intelligence. It has also promoted expanded data integrations, including zero-copy bi-directional links with platforms such as Amazon S3, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric, as companies seek to reduce data movement while preserving governance controls.
Everest also highlighted Celonis's investment in AI-based and object-centric process mining tools, its partnerships with technology providers, and its stated approach to responsible AI. Those areas have become increasingly important as software buyers look for tools that can connect process analysis with automation and AI-led workflows.
Celonis said customers have collectively realised USD $11.3 billion in value using its platform.
