Discovery Consulting launches UnifiedLeave for seamless SAP leave

Fri, 28th Nov 2025

Discovery Consulting has introduced UnifiedLeave, an SAP SuccessFactors extension developed to streamline leave management for employees holding multiple positions within an organisation.

Leave management challenges

Employees in many organisations frequently perform concurrent roles across various departments or business units. Traditionally, these workers must submit separate leave requests for each assignment, often having to switch profiles and manually keep track of distinct leave balances. This process can lead to administrative errors and increased workload for HR teams, who then spend significant time reconciling records and correcting mistakes.

Unified process

UnifiedLeave addresses these challenges by providing a single, centralised system for handling leave requests. Employees are able to submit one leave request applicable to all their roles, with a consolidated balance automatically applied. The system manages the necessary approvals and ensures that all balances are reconciled without manual intervention.

Key capabilities

The extension is designed to work within SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central. Integration is native, which means that data flows seamlessly between UnifiedLeave and existing SAP systems. This enables managers to view staff availability and planned absences across different teams and assignments in one dashboard. For People & Culture teams, the solution reduces the need to manually reconcile records and correct discrepancies, offering greater compliance and accuracy in leave tracking.

Among the chief features are:

  • Single leave request and unified balance for employees with multiple assignments
  • Complete visibility of leave for employees, managers, and HR teams
  • Automatic consolidation of leave balances
  • Manager oversight across multiple teams and departments
  • Full integration with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Business impact

The company highlights several business benefits associated with UnifiedLeave, including the reduction of manual administrative work for HR departments and a more efficient leave request process for employees. Managers receive better visibility for planning, and overall organisational efficiency may improve with fewer errors and quicker reconciliation of leave data. The system's automation is intended to ensure compliance and accuracy, reducing the risk of regulatory issues related to leave records.

"As the modern workforce becomes more dynamic, concurrent roles are increasingly common, and so are the administrative challenges that come with them. UnifiedLeave gives organisations a clear, consolidated approach to leave management. Employees, managers, and People & Culture teams finally have one streamlined, compliant way to manage leave across roles without switching profiles or reconciling records manually," said Alistair Elliott, Managing Partner, Discovery Consulting.
