HitPay & Yuno partner to streamline payments across Asia Pacific
HitPay and Yuno have announced a partnership to simplify payment processes for international merchants looking to expand into the Asia Pacific region. The collaboration involves integrating HitPay's local payment infrastructure with Yuno's global payment platform, enabling businesses to transact using a single application programming interface (API).
Regional access
Through this integration, Yuno's merchants can access a range of alternative payment methods (APMs) and national payment schemes widely used by consumers in Asia. These include e-wallets such as GCash in the Philippines, ShopeePay and GrabPay in Singapore and Malaysia, Touch 'n Go in Malaysia, and Kakaopay in South Korea. National schemes include PayNow in Singapore and QRIS in Indonesia, among others.
The partnership is expected to address challenges faced by businesses relating to payment compliance and fragmented regional payment networks. The companies aim to provide a unified experience to improve payment acceptance across Asia Pacific's consumer markets.
Subscription capabilities
The integration also enables recurring billing functionality for global SaaS and subscription-based businesses. Yuno merchants will be able to set up subscription and repeat-payment capabilities using local e-wallets and QR code-based payment systems. This is intended to support the region's growing subscription economy, which has seen an increase in demand for flexible payment methods.
Merchant experience
Businesses using Yuno's platform will be able to transact as if they were local firms from their first day of operation in the region. The goal is to improve payment acceptance rates and support higher sales conversions by offering checkout experiences that align with local consumer preferences.
The technical integration allows for direct access to HitPay's regional network of payment rails, remittance services, and wallet platforms. This reduces the need for businesses to establish individual connections with local providers, providing a more streamlined entry to multiple Asian markets.
Industry perspectives
"The most difficult challenge for global businesses expanding into Asia is local payment compliance and connectivity. By joining forces with Yuno, we've created a single point of integration. This instantly empowers Yuno's merchants to transact as a local business from day one, translating directly into better acceptance rates and higher sales," said Aditya Haripurkar, CEO & Co-founder, HitPay.
"In high-growth Asia Pacific markets, accepting local payments is the minimum requirement for success. Our merchants rely on Yuno to give them ultimate control over their global payment operations. Integrating HitPay's fast, deep local infrastructure complements our offering in this crucial region, ensuring clients can boost revenue through truly localised checkout experiences while retaining full central control and visibility," said Beh.
