Informatica teams with HowGood to boost food ESG performance

Informatica has announced a new partnership with HowGood, an independent research company renowned for its extensive database on food product sustainability. This collaboration aims to assist companies and food suppliers in making data-driven sustainability decisions and enhancing ESG performance.

Amid increasing consumer demand for ethical and sustainable products and more stringent regulatory requirements for sustainability reporting, the food industry is in need of greater transparency regarding the environmental and ethical impacts of their business decisions. By using Informatica's AI-powered Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) for ESG Sustainability, enriched with data from HowGood, food suppliers can conduct detailed analyses and report on the impacts of their ingredients and products from production to consumption.

HowGood's database includes over 90,000 agricultural emission factors, providing detailed impact assessments on aspects such as greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, biodiversity, labour risk, and land use. Combined with Informatica's platform, which incorporates HowGood's extensive 17 years of food industry research, this partnership is expected to enhance decision-making for some of the world's leading food manufacturers, retailers, and ingredient suppliers.
