OpenPayd has integrated with the Circle Payments Network, enabling business customers to make near-instant cross-border fiat payments through OpenPayd.

The arrangement lets businesses using OpenPayd send and receive traditional currencies while relying on stablecoin-based settlement in the background. Clients do not need to build or manage blockchain infrastructure themselves to use the service.

Circle Payments Network, or CPN, is a coordination layer for financial institutions that supports cross-border payment flows using regulated stablecoins, including USDC and EURC. Circle Technology Services, an affiliate of Circle Internet Group, operates it.

The service is already being used on international payment corridors, including euro-to-Brazilian real transactions and pound sterling-to-Mexican peso transfers that settle in seconds.

OpenPayd offers a single application programming interface connecting businesses to payment and banking services across fiat and digital assets. The CPN integration adds another route for firms that want to move money internationally without handling multiple separate payment technologies.

The move highlights a growing effort among payments and financial infrastructure providers to use stablecoins as settlement tools while keeping the user experience in conventional currencies. The aim is to reduce the operational burden on businesses that want faster transfers without direct exposure to blockchain systems.

OpenPayd, founded in 2018 by Dr Ozan Ozerk, provides embedded accounts, foreign exchange, domestic and international payments, open banking services, and stablecoin on- and off-ramps. It says it processes more than USD $280 billion in annual volumes for more than 1,200 businesses, including eToro, Kraken, OKX, and B2C2.

The integration also expands the practical use of stablecoins in business payments at a time when financial groups are looking beyond crypto trading and treasury management. In this model, regulated stablecoins form part of the settlement process while businesses continue to transact in fiat currencies.

For OpenPayd customers, the service sits within the company's broader network of domestic payment rails, international banking connections, and digital asset infrastructure. That model is intended to let clients access different forms of money movement through a single integration.

Irfan Ganchi, Senior Vice President of Product Management, Payments at Circle, described the immediate effect of the link between the two platforms.

"OpenPayd's integration with Circle Payments Network extends cross-border payment capabilities to businesses through a single API connection, enabling near-instant fiat settlement across global corridors using stablecoin infrastructure behind the scenes. By connecting to CPN, OpenPayd removes the complexity of managing multiple payment technologies, allowing businesses to transact in the fiat currencies they need while benefiting from the speed of stablecoin settlement," said Irfan Ganchi, Senior Vice President of Product Management, Payments at Circle.

Wider use

CPN connects participating financial institutions so they can coordinate payment instructions and settlement across existing financial infrastructure, including local payment systems and banking rails. Circle Technology Services acts as the technology service provider for institutions on the network rather than holding customer funds or managing accounts.

That distinction matters in a market where payment providers and digital asset firms are trying to fit new settlement methods into established financial systems. By placing stablecoins in the back end of a transaction rather than at the customer interface, providers can present the service as an upgrade to cross-border payments rather than as a separate crypto product.

OpenPayd Business Development Director Michael Treacy said the company sees the latest integration as part of that transition.

"Our integration with Circle Payments Network is about making next-generation payments practical for businesses. With today's launch, we're delivering exactly that. Clients can now access the speed and efficiency of stablecoin infrastructure while continuing to make global payments in the fiat currencies they already use. When money becomes fully programmable and moves like software, it opens a tremendous opportunity to grow the digital economy. By combining the Circle Payments Network with OpenPayd's universal financial infrastructure, we're giving businesses access to faster global payments today while building the foundations for the financial services of tomorrow," said Michael Treacy, Business Development Director at OpenPayd.
