Rimini Street unveils console to enhance IT efficiency
Rimini Street has launched a new management console designed to assist organisations, such as Officeworks, in centralising the management of interoperability solutions, thereby increasing efficiency and enabling cost savings.
The company announced the Rimini Connect Console, a tool providing unified administration and monitoring for Rimini Connect's suite of interoperability solutions. This includes a range of capabilities like simplified monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting of Rimini Connect services, known for allowing businesses to avoid expensive upgrades due to evolving technology stacks.
Rimini Connect Console is currently available for Rimini Connect for Browser services, with plans to expand to additional solutions in the future. This console equips businesses with a single dashboard for real-time insights into the deployment of Rimini Connect services and related system resources. This integration helps in enterprise-wide visibility, allowing IT teams to perform in-depth analysis and diagnostics.
The console further aids in routine administrative tasks, such as inspecting and updating digital certificates, thereby simplifying management processes. Desmond Whitt, Vice President of Advanced Technical Services at Rimini Street, highlighted the cost implications of maintaining application interoperability, stating: "Maintaining application interoperability with constant updates to dynamic technology stacks is a challenging, costly and never-ending effort that consumes potentially millions of dollars in forced software upgrades or development of custom, highly technical solutions. Rimini Connect solutions future-proof your enterprise software against interoperability issues and Rimini Connect Console is designed to unify and streamline the monitoring and management of Rimini Connect solutions at scale, beginning with Rimini Connect for Browsers."
Rimini Connect, backed by years of resolving compatibility issues since 2005, allows businesses to address these challenges without necessitating upgrades to core enterprise software. It ensures organisations can implement new browser releases without disrupting existing applications, thus decoupling enterprise software from technological dependencies.
Officeworks, an Australian retailer with a significant national presence, used Rimini Connect for Browsers effectively during Microsoft's retirement of Internet Explorer 11. This move ensured that their critical applications remained unaffected. Michael Howard, Chief Operating Officer at Officeworks, reflected on this collaboration with Rimini Street, saying: "This project really was a collaborative experience with the Rimini Street team… For us, it was about making this transition as seamlessly as possible without any interruption to business, and Rimini Street helped us achieve that."
Rimini Street remains committed to investing in interoperability solutions to maximise IT investments. The Rimini Connect Console signifies an ongoing effort to support clients while reducing operational risks and costs. Whitt added: "Rimini Connect Console is the latest of our continuously expanding offerings to help organisations achieve their goal of growth and profitability while reducing risk. We not only extend the life of systems, we also help make it easy to manage them, lessening overhead costs and freeing teams to focus on higher value priorities for the business."
