Allianz Partners has partnered with Travelgoogoo to offer eSIM connectivity benefits to eligible travel insurance customers in Asia Pacific. The arrangement adds Travelgoogoo's annual plan to selected Allianz travel insurance policies.

Eligible customers will receive access to the Travelgoogoo365 Annual Plan and membership in the Travelgoogoo eSIM Travel Club. The offer includes unlimited messaging and app-based voice calls through WhatsApp, LINE, Telegram, WeChat, Viber and Zalo in 123 destinations, according to the companies.

Customers can also buy additional travel data at member rates when needed. As part of the launch, Allianz customers will receive a complimentary 1GB global starter data pack for a limited period.

The deal reflects a broader push by travel insurers to expand what they offer beyond core cover, as travellers rely more heavily on mobile connectivity for navigation, communication and access to services while abroad.

Travel eSIM products have gained traction as an alternative to physical SIM cards and standard roaming packages. They let travellers activate mobile services digitally, reducing the need to swap cards or look for local mobile options after arrival.

Members can also access support through WhatsApp to check usage or buy additional data plans. Singapore-based Travelgoogoo positions the service as a way to simplify connectivity across multiple markets through a single membership product.

For Allianz Partners, the agreement expands its travel offering in a region where cross-border travel remains a major consumer market. The company operates in more than 73 markets and says its 22,600 employees handle more than 95 million cases each year.

Vinay Surana, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, at Allianz Partners, said the tie-up reflects demand for seamless travel support.

"Today's travelers expect a seamless, end-to-end travel experience. Partnering with Travelgoogoo allows us to address the growing expectation for always-on connectivity, enhancing our travel insurance offering to give customers greater confidence and convenience wherever they go," said Vinay Surana, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Allianz Partners.

The partnership also gives Travelgoogoo access to Allianz's travel insurance customer base across Asia Pacific. Its main product, Travelgoogoo365, is built around a global eSIM membership model focused on roaming and messaging access for travellers.

Richard Bok, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Travelgoogoo, said the service addresses a basic need for people crossing borders.

"Connectivity has become a fundamental part of how people travel, from staying in touch with loved ones to accessing essential services on the go. It's what keeps people close, informed, and moving with confidence across borders," said Richard Bok, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Travelgoogoo.

He added that the partnership combines communications and travel protection in a single offer.

"At Travelgoogoo, we make global connectivity simple and accessible by removing the usual friction associated with roaming and data plans. Through our partnership with Allianz, we're bringing protection and connectivity together in a way that reflects how people travel today," said Bok.

The companies presented the agreement as a response to changing traveller expectations, with mobile access increasingly seen as a standard requirement rather than an optional extra. That shift has created room for insurers, payment providers and travel service groups to bundle digital tools with their main products.

In practical terms, the offer targets a common pain point in international travel: staying connected immediately on arrival without paying standard roaming charges or relying on public Wi-Fi. By attaching that service to insurance cover, Allianz and Travelgoogoo are testing whether connectivity can help differentiate travel policies in a crowded market.

Travelgoogoo said its membership model covers 123 destinations and includes app-based messaging without the need to buy a separate data plan. Customers who need faster or broader mobile access can then add paid data on top of the base service.

The arrangement underlines how travel insurance products are evolving beyond medical cover and trip disruption benefits, as providers look for services customers use throughout a journey rather than only when problems arise.
