CCH iFirm adds AI, new features for Australasian accountants

Tue, 8th Jul 2025

Wolters Kluwer Tax and Accounting Asia Pacific has released new updates to its CCH iFirm platform for accounting professionals in Australia and New Zealand.

The company stated that these enhancements are intended to support accounting firms by improving efficiency, accuracy and profitability through greater integration of expert content, cloud software, and artificial intelligence.

New features

The latest updates to the CCH iFirm platform include several new features aimed at streamlining compliance, client management, and workflow across accounting practices. Among the key enhancements is the CCH iFirm Tax News & Research App with integration into CCH iKnowConnect. This addition allows accounting professionals in the region to access tax news and conduct research from within the CCH iFirm platform.

The cloud-based workflow dashboard for CCH iFirm Workpapers is another significant update. This dashboard provides managers and partners with real-time visibility into the progress of workpapers. Through this feature, firms are expected to be able to meet deadlines more easily, reduce write-offs, and proactively manage workloads.

In addition, the platform introduces a generative AI-powered virtual agent, named CCH iFirm Advanced Virtual Agent. The virtual agent extends 24/7 technical support within the software in addition to established support channels.

Further platform enhancements include streamlined end-to-end workflow, deeper integration, one-click document sharing to CCH iFirm Document Vault, two-way data sync between Client Accounting and Workpapers modules, and a redesigned client portal and signature experience for more secure and simple collaboration.

Management comments

"These enhancements are designed to help firms grow by reducing time spent per job and improving visibility across the practice," said Megan Mulia, Managing Director, TAA APAC. "CCH iFirm has undergone significant transformation and continues to evolve through customer co-design and innovation, as demonstrated by our back-to-back Golden Bridge Awards and the recent APAC 2025 Stevie Gold Win for innovation."

Wolters Kluwer has highlighted the connection between these updates and its Firm Intelligence strategy, which seeks to integrate expertise, software, and AI to help professionals make timely and better-informed decisions. According to the company, the centralised client database within CCH iFirm allows for more holistic management of clients, jobs, and compliance workflows.

Platform usage and scalability

The company said that the CCH iFirm platform is adopted by thousands of firms worldwide, and designed to adapt as the needs of accounting professionals change over time, referencing its cloud-based and scalable architecture.

All enhancements to the CCH iFirm platform are now live, and the company has emphasised that it will continue to invest in capabilities that support productivity and performance for clients in Australia and New Zealand.
