HPE South Pacific appoints new GM for partners and alliances
Tue, 3rd Mar 2020
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) South Pacific has announced that Julie Barbieri will join the team in the role of general manager, Partners, Alliances and Service Providers.

Based in Melbourne, Barbieri will take up the role officially on 6 April, 2020.

Barbieri brings a wealth of knowledge to the role with more than 30 years' experience in the technology and communications sector, including 20 years working closely alongside HPE as a trusted channel and alliance partner.

Barbieri has held a number of leadership roles throughout her career, most recently as general manager, technology solutions at NTT. She held that role for close to seven years. She also served as director, national sales and general manager, infrastructure at NTT, a role she held for three years.
Barbieri was also responsible for developing the alliances strategy and leading the team as head of alliances at Frontline Systems.

“Julie will be an integral and valuable asset to the leadership team and the broader South Pacific organisation with her focus on delivering HPE's vision of Everything-as-a-Service by developing and driving our partner route-to-market strategy in this role, says Stephen Bovis, vice president and managing director, HPE South Pacific.

“She has proven her ability to deliver on business outcomes, effectively lead and develop her team, and proactively build critical relationships, and I am delighted to bring her into the HPE family," he says.

Julie will be based  in Melbourne and will report directly to Stephen Bovis.

Last year, Hewlett Packard Enterprise announced it was to make further investment in its channel strategy, expanding collaboration opportunities for its partners by introducing the ‘Pro' series of initiatives.

The new HPE Sales Pro Community and the extended HPE Tech Pro Community and HPE Marketing Pro Academy offer uniform partner tools, training, resources and support mechanisms – as well as the opportunity to access the same learning and collaboration opportunities as HPE employees and work as one team.

It also announced the launch of the HPE Digital Marketing Partner Accreditation Program, which became available to partners November 1, and acknowledged the successful completion of a structured digital marketing curriculum.

In November, Hewlett Packard Enterprise made enhancements to the HPE Partner Ready programme that allows partners to customise their approach to developing enablement, achieving profitability and establishing differentiation in the market. The FY20 programme enables partners to personalise how they engage and leverage resources with HPE.

The company also announced it had entered into an alliance to launch a first-of-its-kind data center efficiency label, designed to decarbonise data centers and significantly reduce their energy consumption.
