Zeller launches developer suite to boost enterprise payments
Zeller has broadened its presence within the enterprise payments sector by launching a developer-first suite aimed at enabling omnichannel payment acceptance for larger, scaling organisations across Australia.
Within a period of 45 days, Zeller has rolled out payment solutions to more than 600 franchise sites belonging to well-known brands such as The Cheesecake Shop, Noodle Box, Skinkandy, Ugg Australia, Baskin Robbins, and Gelatissimo. This rapid deployment reflects a growing demand for enterprise-grade payment services that can scale efficiently within the Australian market.
The company reports that transaction volume from its enterprise customers has risen at a rate greater than 100% year-on-year, outpacing the growth observed among small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). According to Zeller, fast settlement, comprehensive multi-site reporting, and local support are among the factors contributing to its increasing traction with larger clients.
Developer suite launch
The central focus of Zeller's recent expansion is the release of the Zeller Developer Suite, billed as the country's first developer-driven payments platform designed specifically for enterprises and businesses operating across multiple locations. The offering consists of a suite of software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs) which enable clients to embed Zeller's payments infrastructure into their own software system, self-service kiosks, mobile applications, and online platforms.
This move strengthens Zeller's enterprise portfolio, with new partnerships secured among multi-site brands, including The Cheesecake Shop, Gelatissimo, Domino's, Baskin Robbins, Noodle Box, Pattysmiths, Huxtaburger, Gami Chicken, Ugg Australia, and Skinkandy. These businesses have adopted Zeller's platform to centralise payment processes across their respective networks, a capability which Zeller claims larger global providers have yet to deliver locally.
Alongside these franchise partnerships, Zeller is collaborating with major point-of-sale (POS) and software providers. For instance, the company is working with Redcat, an Australian QSR POS provider, on integrated kiosk payment solutions, as well as with international hospitality POS company Tevalis to offer tableside payments.
The company has also reported that it increased its Developer Suite team by 260% in the past year, hiring additional specialists in engineering, product, design, and partnerships to support its enterprise growth.
Addressing gaps in the enterprise segment
"Payments in the enterprise segment have been underserved for too long. Global providers built products that are solely developer-focused, while lacking a clear understanding of the unique needs of Australian businesses. Products commonly provided by the likes of Stripe and Adyen have failed to keep pace with modern commerce, leaving multi-site operators with fragmented payment systems, poor visibility, non-existent support, and delayed settlements," said Ben Pfisterer, CEO and co-founder at Zeller.
Pfisterer added that the Zeller Developer Suite aims to resolve these issues, leveraging lessons learned from supporting over 100,000 small businesses nationwide as the company broadens its approach to cover the enterprise segment.
"The Zeller Developer Suite has been deployed to change that. We've proven our ability by streamlining payments for over 100,000 small businesses nationwide; we're now scaling at that same pace of innovation into the enterprise segment. The Zeller Developer Suite is purpose-built to remove friction for large, complex enterprises looking to integrate Zeller's secure payment stack into their commerce ecosystem. These customers have told us they need centralised reporting across every site, integrated omnichannel payment solutions, custom integrations, faster multi-site deployments, and real-time cash flow insights to unlock future growth. We're proud to have delivered leading solutions for Australia's most innovative enterprise brands across retail, hospitality and services, and look forward to opening up more capability for a wider variety of growing Australian businesses," Pfisterer continued.
Zeller argues that its offering addresses issues faced by enterprise operators using international providers. Visibility, settlement speed, and support are cited as key differentiators, supported by the company's prior engagement with SMBs since its founding in 2021.
Franchise feedback
The deployment of Zeller's Developer Suite has included collaboration with The Cheesecake Shop, who integrated Zeller's Terminal SDK with their bespoke iPad point-of-sale system. Brad Dight, Chief Information Officer of The Cheesecake Shop, shared the impact on their operations.
"Managing payments across 220 stores is no small task, and the complexity only increases as we grow. Zeller's Developer Suite has made that job simpler. Integrating The Cheesecake Shop's POS system has enabled a seamless in-store payment experience, while making it easy for my team to support our large franchise network with the technology they need to run their businesses efficiently. Faster settlements, responsive support, and a strong, collaborative partnership with Zeller position us well for long-term success in managing omnichannel payment acceptance across our entire network," said Brad Dight, CIO of The Cheesecake Shop.
Zeller is also inviting developers, software platforms, and system integrators to join its Partner Program. Members will receive access to the SDK and API tools necessary to develop commerce integrations, as well as obtain early access to updates and features prior to broader availability.
The company states that the addition of the Developer Suite establishes Zeller as a local alternative to established global payments brands, aiming to provide reliability, deployment speed, and support tailored to Australian enterprises.
